I mean I do personally recall discussion of WWE's politics, and for that matter, Alice Cooper's comments on trans people.

You cannot be serious dude. Rowling is not some random woman, she is an influential billionaire whose money goes towards anti-trans causes. Outrage over her is no less weird than the gay community's outrage over Anita Bryant in the 70s.

Would you though? Can you point out the posts criticizing the Wyatt Sicks house because the IP is owned/managed by two people closely aligned with the Trump administration? How about Fallout posts acknowledging Jeff Bezos ideologically purged the editorial board of the Washington Post? Or mention of the director's politics or threats to fire his main star over his support for Palestine in the Terrifier thread? (ok, there might have been one or two of those, before the event started, but nothing since the house proved to be a hit).

This is a personal obsession with JKR. And if the usual suspects weren't wrapped up in it, they'd admit that it's strange how the online stalking is primarily directed against a lone woman.

This is intentionally a pretty big simplification and just straight up obtuse. The weird "prove you actually stand by your morals and don't just hate this one person" garbage people throw out whenever someone criticizes a bad person is so goofy. But here are my hater creds, per your request:

As someone who adores wrestling but no longer watches WWE due to their politics, sexual abuse cases, and so on, I think the Wyatt Sicks house lands in a weird place. WWE is obviously involved, but Bray Wyatt/Windham Rotunda was a real life human being who tragically passed and was uninvolved in any of these problematic instances, and the house is essentially both a tribute to him and the fulfillment of a long-time dream of the man before he passed. I'm personally not interested in taking my disgust & hatred towards the company out on a dead man.

As a certified hater of the Terrifier movies, Damien Leone made an incredibly tone deaf and braindead statement about politics mixing with art which threw some cast members under the bus, but I don't believe there were ever any threats of firing David. Additionally, over the past like three years of HHN/Terrifier spec, people have been discussing the problematic politics of bringing the property to HHN ad nauseam. It was by no means ignored. The misogyny of the films, mixed with Damien's stupid comments, is literally why I avoided the movies until HHN dragged me kicking and screaming to suffer through them.

People can hate bigots. It's really not that complicated and the whataboutism is silly. It's also not stalking to call out a celebrity for being a piece of trash that spends their entire life pushing to strip human beings of rights. The remaking of a fairly fresh franchise is quite literally intertwined with her actions. It's going to come up and be discussed. And rightfully so because she's a hilariously pathetic loser who went from a success story to someone who made their entire life focus punching down on communities that have always struggled to be treated well.

However, to answer your question, yeah, I can point out posts. Terrifier posts & convo about that exact incident can be found here. As mentioned by @rageofthegods, discussion about Alice Cooper/Terrifier/etc can also be found here. Discussion about the concerning nature of working with WWE can be found in places such as here. Hope this helps!

This is an absolutely absurd thing to say. She’s one of the richest people on earth posting her stupid takes on the internet. What she says is absolutely fair game for comment.

There's a difference between searching for single posts and the subject coming up every time anything about the series gets posted. At this point, I'd assume, everyone knows her opinion. No one is being educated here. It's becoming somewhere between beating a dead horse giving her opinion more publicity.

All the while we are on a board that covers a place that is paying her a lot of money every year in butterbeer and merch sales to, I'm sure, a lot of the same people on here trashing her. You want to actually do something? Venting online isn't it. Not spending money on HP stuff, not riding those rides, does, however small, affect her bottom line.

He asked for posts and posts were provided. The Terrifier discussion literally occurred every time the property was brought up for nearly three years.

Speaking of beating a dead horse, this discussion started back up in the first place because JK Rowling went on one of her daily rants about a Harry Potter cast member. It was quite literally started by the creator for the new series about the Harry Potter franchise cast. The mods have deemed it fair play to discuss the creator, so when the creator goes on a rant about the cast or a previous director says that they don't quite see a point in the reboot, those things are bound to be discussed. It's genuinely on-topic.

Thanks for the entry-level lecture on how to appropriately protest though!

Yes. It's been declared fair game, so we are discussing it.

That also means me saying I think it serves no purpose being here is fair game. As is me pointing out some people only being willing to be mad about it until they have to give up something they do like.

But your post also shows why I think these topics shouldn't be here. Too many people cannot have a discussion with someone they disagree with without getting snarky. That spirals out of control quickly.

You do realize telling people they're protesting incorrectly and accusing them of not protesting in the way you think is suitable is snarky, right? I don't re-watch the movies, I don't re-read the books, I didn't buy the new video game, I don't purchase HP merch, etc. I do not give JK Rowling my money. Insinuating I'm not willing to give up something I like without even asking me first is snarky. Insinuating that the only way to appropriately protest is silently is snarky. We're talking about basic human rights here. Silence doesn't work.

I'm providing in-depth responses on whatever is asked. "Why is it only HP? Show me other properties getting this treatment" Sources provided and situations explained from my perspective. "Why are we beating a dead horse" Explained that JK Rowling spawned a new discussion with a new quote about a member of the HP 'family'. And so on.

I'll leave it at that though. Have a fantastic day, friend.

I don't understand why talking about the crummy things someone says has to "do" something. Not all speech is political. I'm not practicing coalition building when I say it's crummy to dehumanize trans people.

I also don't think boycotting [insert Harry Potter product] actually does anything, but I certainly don't begrudge anyone who has a different red line than me.
