As a big fan of the second game, I am so curious to see where the narrative cuts off in season 2 given tat it is only 8 episodes (the story for the game is being split across two seasons for anyone who does not know).

Going to reiterate not a gamer, but as strictly a show fan with no idea where this is supposed to go, thought last night's episode was fantastic. Perfect place-setter that establishes where the characters are now emotionally, introduces some new ones, and sets up a couple of Big Bads for the season.

If her performance keeps up, I think Catherine O'Hara has a shot at a drama Emmy for this and a comedy Emmy for The Studio in the same year.

I agree. It is interesting to see the differences and similarities. I am in the boat of trying to see the story from a TV writing/ viewing POV despite knowing the whole plot. I think Episode 1 was very solid.

Got around to watching Episode 1. As an avid fan of the games, I'm intrigued to see how they're going to tell this story. TLOU2 (game) is not a linear experience, so I'm curious how they will translate everything to the show!

Lmaoooo sadly no. I was around when Glenn died on TWD and also I played TLoU 2 the night it came out. Somehow they made the scene even sadder... I don't cry at the video game version of that death but the TV show made me cry. Damn you Craig!

This was the best episode of the series to me so far. The show did a better job with Joel's death than the game did, and also did a better job of presenting Abby's motivations in the beginning (and making me hate her more LOL). I think TLOU2 is one of the most well written video game stories I've ever played and I'm very interested now in how they handle the 2nd half of it
