Went to Icon Park on Valentines and got a pretty nice view of the hotel and park from the parking garage there. I've loved driving past it on Universal Blvd the past few years, but seeing Helios, Mt. Beanpole, the Monsters Portal, etc built up and into the skyline of Orlando, visible from many different places across the city. It's just...so cool.
SO and I had the thought while looking at Helios from the garage, this is one of the few times in our lives that we'll ever see that building 100% dark. This place is going to be big, and it'll situate itself into the Central Florida skyline in the same way Contemporary or Swan/Dolphin have. Popular, brightly lit, and always occupied for decades and decades to come. (Barring any longterm 2020-esque occurances, that is.)
What an absolutely incredible and exciting time to be a Universal fan, thank all of yall for being here and coming together to talk about this stuff. It's honestly incredibly rare in this medium to get such a big expansion all at once. It's been so much fun to follow this stuff as passionately as the group here likes to.
