1. Ozzy - obviously my most anticipated. In any other situation, Jack would've been my #1, but sorry, my crazy clown friend - Ozzy takes it all. I know that there are several Ozzy fans in A&D, and I'm positive they will do an incredible tribute to him. I cannot wait to see this since I've been a fan for 46 years! I not only love his music, but I loved the man himself.

2. Jack & Oddfellow - Jack was featured in my second year of HHN way back in 2006. To me, he's always been interchangeable with HHN itself. I love it when he makes an appearance. I also enjoyed the Darkest Deal house with Oddfellow and thought he was a fantastic character. Seeing these two together is a dream!

3. H.R. Bloodengutz - I remember his original house back in 2011. It happened to be the first year I brought my now-wife along. While she isn't as much of an HHN freak as I am, she still talks about that house today. When I told her he was coming back, I was rewarded with the most excitement she's ever had for HHN. LOL Of course, this is the same woman who would never watch Terrifier but spent most of her time last year playing with that damn clown. haha.. I'm thrilled to see H.R.'s comeback and I know this will be such a FUN house. Halloween themed, too? IN!

4. Sinners - the minute after seeing this in the theater, I told my friends, " This HAS to be a HHN next year". Love the movie, adored the music, and, well, it's vampires - also one of my faves.

5. Hellraiser - I'm old, so I saw this movie in the theater when it first released. Back then, everyone was oh-my-godding all over the place because it was very different than the average horror movie of the time. I did re-watch it again in the theater I think last year, and I will admit, I laughed at some of the now cheesey effects. However, that doesn't take away from it's place in horror history nor it's insanely creepy characters. Hoping this house is truly unnerving.

6. Invasion - normally, I'm one of those people who looks forward to the original houses more than the IPs. However, this year, for the first time, it's mostly flipped. I'm not sure about most of these orginals because they don't really align with my taste. Aside from the J&O house, I can't get too excited for these. However, this one sounds like it could be pretty cool based on the setting and the fact it's not intended to be campy? Hoping for some good things here.

7. Madlands - I am putting this here because I"m having trouble deciding the order for the ones I'm least interested in.. I find the concept to be what feels like a thrown together mix of things that really don't go together. I mean - ok, cannibals.. but why in a zoo? I don't get it. I think the talk in spec about a zoo full of animal/human hybrids would've been more intriguing. This just sounds like the result of someone's mushroom trip.

8. Cybergoria - during spec, this house seemed like it was going to be Terminator-ish. While I'm not generally a sci-fi or apocalyptic fan, there are exceptions. I did enjoy Terminator, and I did love The Last of Us (the show, not the house). I just can't get into this concept. I'm glad others are excited, and I'm just hoping to be pleasantly surprised like I was last year with Hatchet & Chains.

9. Evil Dead Burn - I loved the original Evil Dead movies because they were so over the top, but they had some decent scares and loads of camp. These new iterations of the franchise are just not my bag.. pretty much gore for the sake of gore. That's why I skipped the Terrifier movies. However, we LOVED the Terrifier house last year, so who knows? Maybe we'll get lucky again.

10. Stranger Things 5 - so over this. For me, this is ALMOST like the Walking Dead years. They regurgitated WD so much that I actually stopped watching the show and pretty much hate it now. I'm glad ST is offically over, so I don't get to the I-hate-it level. To me, this is the final cash grab for a show that likely poured money into their pockets with merch alone. There are still loads of people still into it - good for them. This will be a one and done for me.. which is fine as it gives me more time to visit my faves.

I like this way of ranking for this year because my hype list overall keeps shifting a bit from day to day, but this grouping makes a lot of sense to me for this year, so I'm stealing this (thank you!) In no particular order, just grouping:

Extremely excited for:

• Stranger Things 5 (I KNOW it won't be scary. I don't care. The houses have been like walking through one of my favorite shows.)
• Madlands (I think this has the potential to be really cool. Worried sets will be repetitive)
• Cybergoria (I just think this one sounds neat and dark)
• HR Bloodengutz (It sounds similar to Slaughter Sinema, which I did NOT like, BUT from what I've heard of what sets/scenes will be here, I'm really excited to see what it all looks like because it feels classic Halloween)

Excited for:

• Invasion (Nothing super stands out about this one but I just think it'll be a good time)
• Evil Dead Burn (This was my first Evil Dead movie. I think it'll translate well!)
• Jack and Oddfellow (I don't like Jack. I think he's a forgettable and generic clown. But Oddfellow is cool. And this is a Kollath house, so that also automatically makes it more exciting for me)

Meh:

• Ozzy (Really don't like his music. The music videos are goofy. Nothing about him interests me but I hope to be pleasantly surprised!)
• Hellraiser (I still need to watch the 2nd and 3rd movies, but I hated the first one lol--might be the bias of always analyzing the writing of the movie because I'm a writer, and if you look at the writing of the first movie, it's BAD haha. I think this one will have cool costumes, but maybe I need to see #2 and #3 to understand what kind of sets this house could have)
• Sinners (I enjoyed the movie, but it never felt memorable to me. My biggest concern with this house is set design I think)

Overall very excited for this year's event, as always! But particularly excited for the originals

Easy enough for me when it gets an automatic slot...

1: Hellraiser-Haven't seen any of the movies, but just knowing that it is an iconic franchise finally making its debut is exciting enough.
2: Ozzy Osbourne-Haven't really gotten into any of the music houses in the past, but if there was ever one that could work, it's this one.
3: Sinners-Love the movie, but I think a lot of the aspects people enjoy about this film may not translate as well by focusing on the vampire attack and could feel like a "one-note house".
4: Evil Dead Burn-Haven't seen the movie yet (so darn busy at the moment), but it'll be my first Evil Dead house so I'm at least looking forward to that.
5: Stranger Things 5-Still in the middle of watching the season, but nothing I've seen so far is making me excited for this one. This will probably play out like a "Best Of" hits from the previous houses and offer nothing new.
6-10: Everything else.

This feels like the oddest list I've ever put together. I really really want HR to be #1 but I'm still concerned about the slaughter sinema tie in, HR is one of my favorite houses of all time and Slaughter Siniema I loved the first time but last time felt like a cop out.
Typically I feel the artist houses don't work other than Weeknd which was fantastic.
Huge Evil Dead fan but man has that franchise been a struggle bus for them for awhile.
Stranger Things final season was meh at best and Stranger Things has consistently placed at the very bottom of my lists especially at the end because there aint nothin but props to look at mid season and beyond. Seriously I've been to HoS houses at the end of season that have been better staffed than Stranger Things throughout the years.

1. Cybergoria - Just sounds awesome in a 90s scifi horror kind of way. I grew up watching Hardware, Virus, Cyber Cop, etc and this sounds a lot like those types of films. Of course, I had Depths of Fear as #1 on my hype list that year as I thought it sounded like Deepstar Six, Leviathan, etc so I very well may be very wrong againt this time.
2. HR Blood N Guts - Loved the first one. Love Slaughter Sinema. So a more serious Slaughter focusing on Halloween-related fake movies sounds amazing.
3. Hellraiser - LOVED the first two movies growing up, didn't care for part 3. Think every event needs a "classic slasher" so super happy for this one.
4. Ozzy - Love his music. Didn't care for The Weeknd's music, but LOVED The house so have super high hopes for this one
5. Jack & Oddfellow - Usually like the Icon houses, but feel like it might be a bit too soon for Oddfellow again already. Would have liked for him to have a break and come back for 40.
6. Evil Dead - Love the original trilogy. The reboot was OK, Rise wasn't that great, and heard this is garbage and it didn't look very interesting. Having said that, Deadites in a haunted house sounds fun to me.
7. Sinners - LOVED the movie. Let me say that again as I'm sure people are shocked I have this so low, LOVED the movie. But two things have me concerned, the thought that the vast majority of the house has to take place in the barn as that's where most of the action takes place. I know it works for some houses (Exorcist) but feels boringly repetitive for others (Black Phone). My second concern, which is my bigger one, is that MOST action scenes contained multiple main characters and multiple vampires at once. Worried about how a scene like the 3 main singing vampires interacting with anybody and doubting they'll have 4+ scareactors in a room. My biggest concern is that there will probably be a lot of mannequins in the house and that makes me worried about how enjoyable it will be.
8. MADlands - Sounds generic and boring. Thought the same thing about Bloodmoon and turned out to be one of my favorite houses ever. Hope to be plesantly surprised by this one too.
9. Stranger Things 5 - LOVED the first house, the rest have been lacking. With lack of express options this year, will probably only do this once as I don't see it possibly justifying hour plus lines.
10. Abduction - Greys? SCARY! Tenticles and other aliens? Silly. This just sounds like a house that will be half scary and half silly/stupid. Sounds like the ET ride to me. The ET stuff is great! Something we all know and love (like the big eyed Greys that scared the hell out of me in movies like Communion). Then they had to go and add all these other aliens they made up and they're all just stupid...which is how the tenticles and other aliens sounds to me.

H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular!- Happy it's not a full anniversary house, but with callbacks to HHN past. Excited to see H.R. Bloodengutz in a full house and it's all about Halloween. The Slaughter Sinema type rooms will be fun. The rooms I heard of sound amazing and so much fun.

With it being in a ST I'm excited.
Invasion: Alien Abduction- Very excited it's not your typical aliens and going to be scary. While it shares a name with Invasion the scare zone glad it's not a sequel to that. Looking forward to seeing the diverse aliens. The concept of a night home invasion is terrifying. The facade for this house is giant, so if that's anything to go off of this house will have great sets.

Hellrasier- Not going to lie the movies sucked but I think it could make a great house. Finally seeing Pinhead at HHN. Glad it's the three movies instead of just the first. The cenobites will be cool to see. Mike says it's a white whale IP for them that they always wanted to do.
Jack and Oddfellow: Chaos & Control- Love to see Jack and Oddfellow and it's an icon house. Like that's it's more than just a verses house and ends with a team up. Interested in seeing all the different eras of Jack (Human Jack, etc) and how the oddverse is. Very excited it's a Dylan Kollath house. The giant can of soul's skull at the end with Jack and Oddfellow on top of will be amazing. Can't wait to see the facade of this house. Glad it is in SS 22.
Sinners- Think this could be a cool house with some good scares. Good music scenes too with I Lied to You and Rocky Road to Dublin. Interested to see the decade dance scene (I Lied to You) Excited to see the glowing eyes and the Sammy jumpscare with Remmick. The burning barn will be cool to see epically with Remmick's death. This house is giving me some Darkest Deal vibes. Glad it's in a new tent.
Evil Dead Burn- The movie was very intense and chaotic. Deadites are always fun to see. This house will be very chaotic if done right. Looking forward to seeing granny in the house. The dad will be cool to see. Interested to see how the car scene will play out and wonder how the dog will play out and if we will see the return of the DoF dog. Glad Evil Dead is finally back at HHN.
Cybergoria- The stuff I'm hearing for this house is cool but like I said in my earlier post futuristic/scfi isn't for me. The Zyborgs room in SS was cool but not my favorite. The concept does intrigue me through, and we could get some cool creature deigns. See human to in the surgy to part machine to fully machine. The fact this is in F&F does concern me some. To my knowledge the set up will be like Jason so I wonder what the outside portion will be.
Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness- A music house. I'm not a huge Ozzy fan. His music is good; I'm just not a huge fan. I do like how Orlando is getting a different version then Hollywood. I hear we are getting a cool version. This house is going to be an IP original. I'm excited to bord the crazy train and see the famous bat scene.
Madlands: Caged Cannibals- A post-apocalyptic world house is a used setting over the years. This idea with animals being extinct so cannibals are divided by factors in a defunct zoo and are taking on animal traits is interesting. Not an idea that seems all that interesting to me and so far, is giving me Decedents vibes. I feel like this house will depend on the cannibal's design. (I haven't looked at anything from the UK event as I want to be surprised opening night)
Stranger Things 5- We had Stranger Things houses now many times. The first house in 28 was amazing. A GOAT. Sadly, it went downhill from there. Season 4 was a great season, but the house was meh and with season 5 not being the best season, not sure what to expect. Maybe it will be opposite and be good and get a proper farewell. Maybe we will hear Purple rain but I have a feeling the music will be saved for the lagoon show.
