HHN Hollywood Speculation/News - 2015

So I asked John on twitter about the end of the Monsterpaloza panel (Which its happening today so good luck for those out there) and I asked him if it'd be another contest and he said; No.

the interest rate for what they're going to announce is bugging me now..

I hope he's not stupid enough to announce Walking Dead. They would run him out of the panel with jeering.

I thought he said he wasn't announcing anything? I know that doesn't mean it can't happen, but it seems a little early to start announcing stuff. The panel is supposed to a panel looking back on the history of the event.

Maybe they could announce something for the Nighttime Tours as hes involved or something in HHN Hollywood but not huge.

Well, nothing was announced. Someone just won a BTS tour of a maze with Murdy.

The panel was great! Lots of Halloween Horror Night staff in attendance, and a cool look at some of the more popular mazes from the last few years.

I'm getting very uneasy about this year. Murdy has been working on the new attraction PLUS the night time tour AND HHN. He's going to stretch himself thin doing all if this. I fear the quality will suffer and he'll just reuse stuff.

Walking Dead is coming back, Insidious is likely so, Freddy and Jason are rumored for Orlando and will likely be shared, another cheap 3D house is likely. I think there's more than enough room for Murdy to go cheap.

Was it just me but did the Dracula Untold Maze last year seem slightly cheap. I't had so much potential but at some parts of the maze the theme or atmosphere would get cut off with just a dark hall or just curtains draping. I would honestly rather have one less maze and have the rest of the mazes well executed.

I won't be attending this year's HHN (or at least it's not in my plans), but instead UOR's for the first time. I wouldn't be surprised tho if this year shares very much with Orlando, and the differences being a 3D maze/music maze.

An announcement in June confirms TWD returms. They announced TWD in June last year because they wanted to let people have a chance to make travel plans around it.

I am actually expecting if it is TWD that it mixes Season V and FTWD due to the lack of content in V.

Fear The Walking Dead doesn't have the same recognizability factor that The Walking Dead does (yet, at least). The only time frame we've been given for the spin-off is summer of this year, so it's probably cutting it close.

Yeah, typically they start in the June

They usually began in July. Last year they announced The Walking Dead around mid-June and didn't announce the next maze until a month later. As mention before Larry Bones also revealed Boneyard is beginning production earlier this year (May).

On another Horror Nights site/forum, the Orlando folks pretty much have all of their IP houses figured out Although not 100% they're pretty certain through speculation and sources.

Apparently their IPs will be Insidious, Freddy Vs. Jason, The Walking Dead, Scream, and...this may shock some of you...American Werewolf again.

Looks like we found out three of our houses right there. We'll likely be sharing TWD, Insidious, and FVJ. We're not getting Scream since Murdy openly said he doesn't want to do it. I don't see us repeating AWiL since Either Insidious or FVJ will be going in where it was last year. FVJ was fully designed in 2011 but got scrapped and replaced with Alice Cooper (Remember "Nacasio"?).

And for the record, I'm glad we're not getting Scream. I've always wanted a house based on the original movies, but, from the teaser shown, the MTV series looks AWFUL. Feel bad for Florida getting that crap.

Remember, while this is likely happening from what I've read on that site, nothing is 100% AND CAN CHANGE ANYTIME.
