So opening ceremony is Purge again... Wow, no variety. They were on a roll too. Biggest disappointment by far, IMO the least creative and least scariest scare zone experience Ive ever been through. I'm not exaggerating, it's WEAK!

While not particularly exciting, I really hope/expect them to go all out on decor and props. Hopefully not the generic, overused ones they use every year.

I remember a rumor that projection mapping may be used for this year (I believe by you actually). Could that be something with the opening scaremony?

I said I'd love to see projection mapping but that was just my wishful thinking. Never said it was a rumor. Don't take what I wish to see as hints of what may come to the event.

I want to wait a little longer before I say that I like or hate this idea. Right now I'm disappointed but hopefully it turns out good

I see this as an improvement right off the bat. USH has literally done NOTHING interesting with their scare zones since HHN returned in 2006. Just the same thing, don't over and over and over with a variation in the theme and reused props.

The Purge park take over sounds really cool, but I don't necessarily agree with it taking over everything. It would've been nice to see three separate scare zones for each section. But Murdy can do what he wants as it's his event. It'll be cool. 


Also, I felt like I already went through the entire Krampus maze from the presentation. They basically spilled the whole maze haha.

Also, I'm kind of mad about the Purge zone but kind of excited at the same time. If they do it right, and really make it feel like the Purge with scenery/props, it could be great.

Okay so from what John has said about The Purge scarezones I'm excited. The fact that it won't be roaming hoards but will still be scarezones is good. One in New York entrance, then the one straight through Route 666 to the backlot. 


Now the scarezone gauntlet that he described is exciting. To me it sounds like an outdoor maze through the plaza, Parisian courtyard, and French street. 


This isn't horrible actually. This could definitely be very good.

This is true and the only SZ I ever loved was Dark Xmas. Sure as heck beats out that lame scare zone in the lower lot with the "Z" already.


Orlando was always more creative with their's.

I'm actually very excited to see this, the fact that jump scares will be built into this, this may actually be the first scarezone to scare me. The character designs look cool as well

I find it interesting that Murdy hasn't exactly confirmed if Jabawockeez are returning, even though it was "leaked" a few days ago. But what's interesting is how it seems he is alluding to the show this year.




Based on this tweet, I can't help but feel that he's implying something different than what we're expecting. Especially since he was talking about this year being all about fan requested properties. Could we see the return of Bill and Ted? Jabawockeez were rumored to be headed to Horror Nights Orlando earlier in the year.. maybe that leak was in reference to their event and we get something different?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing with how much he keeps bringing up that this year is for the fans and everything we've asked for...

As much as I would love to see Bill and Ted return, I don't see it happening any time soon. I think your looking into the tweet too much

Oh I know. It's just wishful thinking at this point. I'm pretty sure that if Bill and Ted were coming back we would have heard by now cause they would have already cast it and began rehearsals.
