There’s no way to get around the ride being closed for HHN, whether it was this year or next. Right now it’s likely it’ll be both. At some point it was going to happen and we’ll just have to deal with the inconvenience until the next ride opens.

What if I told you that they pushed back the closing already and you already got bonus Rockit time?

Universal did originally say September before moving to August. I also heard murmur of an even earlier closure which may have been a better option for a chance to open sooner for next HHN.

They must have some sort of route planned to get to the SS 18-22 cluster around the construction.

There's technically 3 routes available (Minion Way, Under Rockit Lift Hill) and Fallon Restrooms. However it appears, unless something changes, they're using Minion Way and Fallon restrooms only. I would have assumed they wouldn't touch the lift hill until after HHN... but I guess they will?

Yeah, I was definitely expecting a house portal over by the HRRR station

When I heard it was getting shut down, I started calling it 'Hollywood Rip-Ride-SUCK-It"
(I never liked this ride)

Anecdotally, I fly down from PA to go to HHN one night a year. i don't think i'm clutching at my pearls to say that Universal picked the wrong time to tear down RRR and put 50% of the houses this year behind disconcerting construction walls that leads to an exhaustive case of having to walk out of the way and rerouted around the already complicated and overstuffed traffic to avoid said construction. This is made more troubling amidst the more literal issues that have already popped up before the event has even started like the Tribute Store being completely removed from its annual spot and shoehorned into a lesser location.
We're losing a ride.
We're mired in construction that could have been avoided.
We're altering long-term pre-existing plans that people look forward to every year.
And we KNOW this year is going to be busier than last year, at the busiest time of year for USF in general.

I understand the anxiety, but at this point we don't know what is happening or how it's deployed. Additionally changes always get made after opening weekend. For all we know this could be a better way of doing it vs the old way.

1000% Joe! A lot of that concern comes from the uncertainty of it all and i do see that for what it is - unpredictable in many ways! There is a chance it's smooth as hell and any worry we/the general public has is all for naught. Conversely, there's also the chance it's so much worse than any of us ever could have realized. Hahaha

I'm usually not as super pessimistic as this forum may make me look sometimes because I left a glimmer of hope when i said "some of us haven't seen/witnessed for ourselves yet" because I do think this is something we're going to have to literally see for ourselves before we collectively lose our minds. I know a lot can change before the event starts next week
(jesus) and even while the event is still going on, so we're bound to see different sides of it throughout the upcoming season. I'm going down in October so i think whatever short-form wrinkles I could have perceivably been worried about should be shaken out by then, right? (right??? lol)
