I wish they had hired someone else besides mark hamill. it kinda ruined the movie for me.
I couldn't buy him as a bad guy. obviously the parts with the boys walking were great. but Mark just ruined it for me lol

I loved him, he hams it up to just the right level. He's not supposed to be an outright frightening villain, he's the torrid mouthpiece of a corrupt system, not the arm of it.

I wish the role went to Ron pealman or someone like Danny Huston or Stephen Lang maybe

for me mark hamill was doing a cartoony voice and kinda like cosplaying as a bad guy. didn't feel real.

he's too nice in real life lol ( I know he's joker too but that's different)
for this movie I just wish they had hired Ray Winstone for that role or just like a real serious scary guy. like a real hard guy.
every time mark talked I couldn't help but laugh ( unless that was the intent)

I don't think he's the terror, the system he sits in the throne at the top of is. I don't think it's a coincidence that the main antagonist of a story so much about characters that are given full names never has his full name ever stated let alone even just his first name or surname, he's always referred to as The Major.

Lot of subtext there about people who by themselves can be considered jokes but turn into something truly heinous when they became 'leaders' of things like the government. Just my take, though!

the character and his lines are really great. I don't deny how great the movie is. it's really really good. horrific but good
but seeing and hearing mark say those lines made me laugh a little lol. just because it's him. because I know he's nice. ( like if someone like Keanu played a villain in a movie but you know he's super nice lol)

I do not know what it is, but I cannot stand Hamill in anything really. Other than the joker obviously. Even him being in that Netlfix Poe series was distracting and off-putting to me.
