They don’t really show up until the third act, although Toy Chica is featured (albeit selfomly) in the second act. Freddy Carter as Michael the security guard (a role I would bet money was originally intended for Markiplier, who is missing YET AGAIN!) might be the stand-out as far as the human cast goes. He only gets two scenes but definitely has screen presence.
I agree with everything in your post except this. You'd
definitely be losing that bet. lol
They went with an actor who looks like they could believably be Lillard's son.
I mean...
just look at this family!

I love Markiplier too, but
come on. Let casting be given at least a LITTLE bit of credit here.
That would be a serious case of
"one of these things is not like the other" if Mark was there.
Mark already came out and said that he was offered the role of the security guard who died at the beginning of the first movie but the scheduling didn't work out with Iron Lung. Only time will tell if he was even offered a role for the second movie after the first time didn't work out, but i'd bet
an equal amount of imaginary money that he wasn't offered a part and definitely wouldn't have been given that specific role.
CAMEO: yes! ONGOING SERIES CHARACTER THAT WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK: no way!
Anywho...
If you liked the first movie, you'll
probably like this one.
If you disliked the first movie,
get ready to dislike this one because
it's worse in almost every way!
The saving grace is Henson's work on all the awesome looking animatronics and a couple standout smaller performances(Lillard, Ulrich, Grace, Carter) but the rest is
genuinely bad. Like,
laughably bad. The writing is somehow worse! The acting is noticeably worse! And the direction... Yeah, choices were made! BUT as much as i want to hate on it
(and i do) - i'm still a fan of the franchise and i can't help but want the franchise to succeed. It was a sold out showing filled with kids losing their collective marbles; Gasping, laughing, and yelling out references. It was a fun atmosphere and i do think there is charm there, in a franchise that is able to elicit as much love and excitement as this one. This is horror
for kids and i know that if i were their age i'd be eating it up too. As an adult, I have the rational to say:
I'd rather have a bad movie than no movie (for the franchise's sake). To which, I'm hoping they rush out a third movie and get us back in with a Springtrap led film, keeping it more contained and letting Lillard lead as the sole antagonist. While it is the most simple and logical next step, i'm sure they(Cawthon and Tammi) will find a way to screw it up.
This might be only be our 2nd night at Frederick's, but i'm hesitant to want to survive another.
