Way too late for this given that the series ended six years ago (and was really only a cult hit even at the time), but the thought of a Scooby Apocalypse house crossed my mind today and now I'll probably die waiting for it.

I just watched the first two "I Know What You Did Last Summer" movies because I'm about to watch the new one in an hour and honestly? These movies would make for a great house. If we can't get Scream I think this would be an awesome alternative.

I got this Inspired Idea from TikTok

A ceo sacrifice zone, called wayward oceans, in Modern day, Every year in America on summer Nights a CEO is Sacrificed to the sea. By a cult named the Oceans of Sighs, they kidnap the ultra wealthy & sacrifice them to the sea gods of the deep & depths of the oceans. To cause the poor and middle class to prosper, releasing a chain of events. In the states, sirens songs could be heard at night as the wind from the ocean blows. Undiscovered sea creatures join in on the ritual. Including sea monsters that walk on earth feasting on the organs & blood of the corrupted individuals of wealth. The oceans wave splashes as screams of the wealthy could be heard.

The cultists wear their masks made out of sea shells carrying knives including hand made Tritons. Lights are adorned with sea shells in the zone. Creating an ocean atmosphere as the lights are blue like the seas.

In exchange, the ocean grants back all the states prosperity every year. & it takes the corrupt to the depths.

Seeing a Scooby house wouldn’t look very convincing if it were to have its own house. It’s one of those IP’s I don’t want. Not because it’s kid-friendly, the horror elements are totally there. More to do with the practicality and translations that may not work well by execution.

Sure, they could get someone wear the same, familiar theme park costume they used regularly to portray as him, but it wouldn’t look right over there on two feet. They would have to use props, puppets, and animatronics to amp up the technical advancements.

Scooby Doo as a pop-up during fan-fest or a family friendly house during daytime might work.

I don't think it ever happens, but if I were to try, I think the key is to make it from Scooby and Shaggy's perspective--use their voice cues but never actually show them. Maybe non-violent "victim" cameos ("Look out! It's the Creeper!") from Fred, Daphne and/or Velma, but sparingly. And then focus on real-life versions of the monsters and settings from the original season.

It will still be hated on sight by most, but could be a fun twist. The adjacent food truck would make bank.

I agree that it would be hated on sight - but I do think Scooby could produce a genuinely fun and visually interesting house.

I'd still rather HHN do its own obvious rip-off of Scooby that can be as gory, gruesome, and offensive as possible. Same structure of the "gang" -- large, talking animal, pretty redhead, pretentious leader, nerdy brunette, and gangly slacker -- who all look lifted from the 70s... but in a realistic grindhouse setting. I honestly think it would make for a better house. The juxtaposition of cartoony parody and visceral horror just fits the HHN aesthetic WAY more than a straight up Scooby house would.

I personally don't think Scooby-Doo should be used at HHN. I'm sure creatively they can find a way to make it fit, but a good chunk of the target audience is too young.

I think Scooby-Doo should be reserved for Fan Fest experience or a daytime Halloween experience. I can see Scooby-Doo as the headliner for a daytime event at USF if they are seeing a decline in USF's attendance during HHN nights.

for Scooby doo you just need one or two puppets one at the beginning one at the end,

it's easy, have one animatronic greet you at the beginning and that's it.

he doesn't have to be inside the house,
just one, one good animatronic on a stage above you where he greets you. thats it.
