Would the Hollywood Grill be worth giving up for a new Universal Experience..?

Im going to say it. How about no relocation for this show(its way, way to out dated) Besides I dont think this show will be around for to much longer.

Chris, I totally agree that the entrance needs to be improved. It's not very inviting right now. I'm not saying it should be super flashy by Disney standards but the entrance is very bland. I liked the idea that a new, larger, more immersive and interactive version of Universal Experience would go in the upper lot next to the entrance in place of a couple of the generic shops. Would be a great introductory attraction in my opinion! Would then open up the lower lot for something new/Jurassic Park expansion if they remove Panda Express and the original Universal Experience.

That sounds like a terrific idea. What would you build there??? it needs to be a good ride... please we need rides!!!

On the lower lot? No idea. Might have to be small.

No Camp Jurassic, though. I want a canopy flyers ride that I can go on, and not have a team member tell me I'm too big!  :P

The only reason Panda Express would not close is because they need the overflow restaurant in the area to cover when the JP restaurant goes down for refurb.  But I agree, a kids ride needs to be in the lower lot.

I just realized....if not for removing Panda and Universal Experience, isn't there pretty much no more room for new anything down there? Would the studio be willing to give up one of the soundstages next to Transfomers eventually down the road?

I assume you mean Universal Experience, not Universal Plaza.  :P

I actually thought about that the other day. I mean, if they really wanted to, could they extend the park further into those soundstages to house another attraction or two? It'd be kind of an abrupt transition from Transformers to something else, but hey - that's our park for ya.  ;)

I really doubt the studio will give us a stage. They film in the ones near that area already.

Do you think that will change over time, once they start building more stages? I'm assuming they will build new ones at some point during the evolution plan?????

^ yeah, I was just gonna say that. The expansion plan calls for more/newer facilities to be built on the lot, so maybe they won't mind giving up a soundstage or two next to Transformers as long as they're getting a new one elsewhere. Hopefully sometime down the road.

Certainly not soon, though. There are some popular shows filming there currently.. but I doubt they'll add to the left of Transformers. There's already an extended queue on that side that is used quite often, as well as the Optimus Prime/Megatron meet and greet area.

When the time comes in 10 years or so, they can easily reorganize that area to fit in a different ride once they acquire a sound stage (hopefully)

I'd rather have a re-imagining of the Mummy before a new attraction down there.

Amen to that. I wish they'd get started on that now...

The area is completely landlocked, and I'm not sure how using some of the studio's soundstages would help. The park is already difficult to navigate efficiently with its odd layout, so using the adjacent soundstages would only add to the congestion.

Sure, it's technically more room, but I just don't seem them fitting things in without creating a bigger bottleneck in the Lower Lot.

As it currently stands, it would definitely cause a lot of bottlenecking, but like I said, if they DO choose to acquire some of the adjacent soundstages in the future, they can reorganize and widen the areas and road to the other hypothetical rides. It's all just hypothetical discussion anyway. I just feel that if they ever do choose to do it, theyll find a way to redo the lower lot a bit. All long term plans, obviously

I honestly don't think, at this point, that there's anyway of resolving the odd layout of the park. It is what it is, but it makes us unique. The only issue is that having an odd layout very well could encourage bottlenecking.

I also think they are planning on using at least one soundstage for another attraction, I guess that's why they are building more... don't know if they will replan the route for the tram to get a look of those new soundstages. I really hope they do use another stage, besides CSI has been a lengthy show and I would give it another year or two
