The systems of being able to remove yourself from quote tweets and the block lists are a god send for reduction in harassment.

Fwiw - we still do plan on using Twitter but are expanding to provide updates on the other socials a lot more now.

Slowly but surely making the switch myself. I've been able to put up with quite a lot on Twitter, but I've noticed an undeniable deterioration in the last week or so that's pushed me over the edge.

The BlueSky block is also a “nuclear” block. It straight up makes you invisible to anyone you’ve blocked. They cannot see your posts, replies, profiles, nothing. As such, the BlueSky mantra of “block early and often” quickly suffocates trolls and just all around a-holes by depriving them of attention. The detach quote feature doubles down on this functionality by preventing brigading.

Even setting aside the politics, wow was the idea to let unfunny people pay to have their awful joke replies boosted a mistake. Ruined the fun of old Twitter.
