The name is... regrettable, but a franchise-wide Jason maze a la what Hollywood did last year with TCM sounds like a lot of fun!

No excuse not to go to space if they're using "universe" in the name.

Cross post, but: While the Jason Un1v3rse name is a bit cringe, the redesign of the mask looks worse than the classics, etc. - this is still a solo Jason / Friday the 13th house at HHN. I am really, really excited for it.

Yup. You can't trademark generic things like numbers, or days alone...but you can trademark combinations of them like "Friday the 13th"

I'm getting that mug. They might just be remixing what they're doing with that single promo shot, but that's a damn good remix.

Normally the announcement/preview merch doesn't excite me, but the design they have here is killer! Hat's off to whoever did it, since I'll gladly get the mug and possibly the shirt on top of that.

As for Jason Universe, I'm honestly excited for the house! When it comes to the legacy slashers, I've generally been a fan of Jason. Yes, the films can wildly vary in quality, but you're generally gonna' get some fun kills amongst them as our big boy is rather resourceful. So a house paying homage to him with those kills sprinkled about sounds like a fun time to me!

When it comes to where this'll land in my anticipated list, most likely somewhere within the Top 5. This is a legacy slasher which I've been looking forward to, and one that I can see the team pulling off quite nicely. Also, I'm very intrigued with how they're handling this house in the supercharged location, they're clearly trying something different with the outdoor section that's actually outdoors, so that's always exciting to see!

New Line owns the trademark on Friday the 13th (confirmed via US trademark office). They bought it from Paramount, the original distributors of the F13 movies.
