Are you sure about that? Hollywood has a Crystal Lake sign on its facade. Victor Miller, who owns the half of the franchise that includes Crystal Lake, is an involved party with the Jason Universe initiative. The F13 name seems to be the only thing that's off-limits through this property.

It can probably be informally used, but not in an official capacity (like marketing copy).

I don't believe this is correct. Other projects licensed through Jason Universe have been able to explicitly utilize Crystal Lake. From my understanding, the "complexities" for the license of this property have been greatly overstated, as the two separate parties that own the franchise have been willing to collaborate post-lawsuit, which is the foundation that Jason Universe exists upon.

Just for those who don't know/a fun bit of trivia: Paramount released the first eight Friday the 13th films before selling the films rights to the Jason character (but not the Friday the 13th name) to New Line Cinema after Jason Takes Manhattan underperformed. That's why everything after Part VIII and I'm assuming this Universe now goes by Jason or Crystal Lake or some other, non-Friday the 13th title. It's another notch on why the rights for him are so complex now.

If they only mention the first 8, I'm assuming Jason Universe-the initiative/Universal only negotiated the rights to the Paramount likenesses and didn't bother with New Line. So I wouldn't expect Space or Evil Worm Jason, for better or worse.

I think there is no way we are getting anything from Freddy vs Jason. That seems even less likely than JGTH or Jason X, as it would require a whole extra IP to get folded in. With that said, it would be really, really cool to get an easter egg of Freddy's claw like in the ending of JGTH. Highly doubt it would happen, but it would be cool.

In many respects, the first eight Friday films are the most classic - they are the ones actually called Friday the 13th for example, until the 2009 remake - and so a house that draws from those might give us a classic Jason/Friday vibe, notwithstanding fans' collective and understandable worries about the Jason Un1v3rse stuff. It would mean we would miss out on cool stuff like Uber Jason and Freddy, but it would mean the classic, legacy Jason stuff. I would be good with that if it is well done.

I don't know if there's any concrete info that they are unable to pull from the New Line films, but it's possible that Uber Jason specifically isn't being used because it doesn't thematically make sense with what they're trying to do with this house.

They don't necessarily need to have an outer space scene. When I first thought of ways to implement Jason X into the maze, the first one that popped up was simply having a scene set in the woods were campers are partaking in a space camp. Said campers are dead and their corpses are all along the grounds but their space equipment is in the scene and thats when Uber Jason pops out.

This is a smart, sensible solution, but also like, I just want them to randomly go to space lol.

7 of those 8 films take place within or near Crystal Lake with a campground/wilderness setting. I imagine it would be odd to just randomly just throw a cybernetic Jason in there. Jason X is just so far removed from anything else in the franchise.

I'm definitely not disagreeing, it just seems like they're going for a kind of "Best of Jason" for the second half of the house - so I wouldn't be totally shocked if they threw in a nod for Jason X lol

Just have the house be all at Crystal Lake (or whatever proxy name is used). Then when you are exiting the house, have the last "extra" scare, coming out from the black curtains after the house is "over", be Uber Jason. Then it doesn't feel out of place in the house as it's a bonus.
