Exactly. The original still holds up perfectly well today.

If they want to remake something that doesn’t hold up at all, fine. Remake away. But Jaws? Perfect today, still.If I let my kids watch it they’d be sleeping in my bed for days.

Remakes are not all bad, especially when they improve on the original. (True Grit, Cape Fear, Oceans 11, The Departed etc)
That said I'd be very nervous about them remaking something which is pretty much perfect already.
