The passing of Jay Stein got me thinking - what are some of the best Jaybangs in the parks?

The shark in Jaws, and turning the corner in Kongfrontation are obvious, but what do we have now?

I have a few in mind, but I'll leave just one here: when it works properly, the fake ending in Mummy is awesome. I've seen people trying to get out of the car on that one. :lmao:

Great book! Love Sam's work and miss him ducking out of the industry. Here's the deffinition summarized from the book:
...rides and attractions that stunned, shocked, and surprised guests, dousing them with water, blasting them with air, heat, or cold, and giving them what the Disney parks of that time lacked: fear and visceral delight.

In Spider-Man, Hobgoblin's pumpkin bomb exploding into real fire on the real set after originating on the screen remains one of the great theme park WOW! moments.

That is definitely the highlight of that attraction, and if there had to only be one Jaybang moment, that'd be it. I'd argue that Spidey is full of moments like it though, and that's part of what makes it so incredible. The full-blast heater + fan above you during Doc Ock's "starting to heat up!!" phrase has always stuck with me.

As much as I enjoy Electro's "shock" rumbling the SCOOP in Spidey, I actually think Transformers gets a rare win here over it with the Devastator scene. It builds up this giant vacuum robot as a big threat for what feels like awhile, and I think pays it off pretty nicely with a full cheese-grater moment through his grindy teeth and back out, while the car clanks and sharply rumbles through. It's one of the most unique sensations on that ride. I think it's a lot of fun.

He probably would have represented them :lmao: . Universal made their big money as a talent agency representing actors/creatives
and driving 'hard' bargaining. :lmao::cool:

I rarely have anything positive to say about Transformers... but that's probably the best sequence in that ride.
