It is funny you mention it that way since Disaster's refurb was not announced officially anywhere on the site until days after it was closed. The disaster refurb was actually parts further breaking and not really a planned closure until it was decided that something had to be done or the entire ride would basically fall into disrepair.
The fact that they had wall up like this, it is February when water rides typically get refurbished and then notice the other two water attractions in the park just opened back up from refurbs, this would be the last one.
If something went screwy with JRPA where they had to close down like this...than that would mean it is something really bad/costly.
