There are plans for a full overhaul. Same or similar show, new tech.

They have already invested loads of money into updating and fixing numerous effects. I'm still waiting to hear when Disaster will close down for an extended refurbishment though. I know for a fact they were inquiring about a replacing the RV, entire control system, improving ADA access and redoing the entire station format. They are working with Itec on the project...

There's no actual construction going on behind Thunder Falls yet,is there? I know there was a lot of activity and a bunch of survey markers seen, but nothing else that I'd heard. Has the project even been officially green-lit yet or is it still in design phase?

There is no CONSTRUCTION at all at this point. We await walls, lots and lots of walls. That will be the necessary evidence.

Disaster is being brought into the "21st Century" from a tech point of view.

New ride control system, ADA access upgrades, station upgrades and so on. Most of the visual upgrades have been slashed due to budgets required elsewhere and it sounds like instead of a new RV that I've been talking about for over a year it may just be a large refurb for budget reasons...

I'm probably in the minority here, but I wish that Kong was still part of a Disaster redesign. While I am excited to see what this new ride may hold, I was more excited by the prospect of the JP island getting a lot more love. Either way, I am definitely curious to see what comes, even if I do hope that Kong was some how a red herring for some large scale Jurassic expansion that would be spoilerific to the new film.

I would personally be thrilled because that means that the JP expansion may still be big! Haha

But all this mystery does have me intrigued and excited for whats to come.
