MIB is as far as the mummy when it comes to things that need to be replaced. I see that staying for atleast another decade but anyways we are insanely off topic. Anybody got anything for Kong?

Everything except JP, Marvel, HP, Kong, Suess and any new IP's brought to USO are safe. MIB is an awesome, probably the best shoot em up, but the location is awkward. Unless they turn the MIB mystery plot into a futuristic city with star trek, i dont see it happening

I'm sorry but what gives you that impression? Most everything at Universal is safe right now so long as its efficient and gets good numbers attendance-wise and ratings-wise. Men in Black does both of these things, as do most of the stuff in resort that you suggest isn't 'safe'.

not that it means anything, but they were reconfiguring the lockers for MIB last week. We went over there to ride it again and we had Express for staying on-site, but we just did not want to deal with the lockers since half of them were behind a wall.

Anyway, I do not know anything about construction and I assume Central Florida has a low water table like we do down here in south Florida, heck, I guess that shows in the retention pond...so we I walked by this last week as well as when I rode the flyers with my daughter, it just looks like different levels in the ground right now. You can kind of see it in the picture that Felipe posted on the previous page.

You can see a different color sand in the upper left near the back hoe (I think that is what you call those types of diggers)....that area looks lower and then near the black dirt (that I imagine was brought in) it seems like they are building up the ground near there. I know it is early on so no telling why they need to dig around there, but the ground (to me from what little I could see) seems to be at different elevations for the time being.

You are completely right in regards to being efficient and getting good numbers, however, with the new standard of immersion they are bringing to the park, MIB sticks out like a sore thumb in between DA and SF. Because of this reason, I do feel something will happen to it, Whether its blend into a new land, or a complete tear down.

^True, but it itself is a pretty immersive ride on its own. Im of the opinion that youre allowed some liberties in a theme park, and World Expo is kind of a neat theme however misplaced. However, if they absolutely had to do something to the area, I would think it would be better for them to build around MIB. Its interactive, family-friendly, and doesnt have any 3-D! It would be a big loss IMO.

MIB is the least of Universal's worries... put a sci-fi area around it. Doctor Who where FFL is(never gonna happen but it's British and sci-fi ), a Star Trek attraction to the left, and Hill Valley 2015 with a brand new BTTF E-ticket (also unlikely but still :P). MIB just happens to be clear on the other side of the two IPs that fit its theme (Transformers and Terminator).

MIB is the best shoot em up dark ride period... none of them come close to touching its AAs, set and details... a nice upgrade and sci-fi additions around it are all it needs to be as cohesive as the rest of USF.

I think it's clear that the fate of MIB will rest on what goes on the mystery plot. If it's an IP that needs more space and MIB can either be rethemed or removed to do so, MIB will be gone. If it's an IP that doesn't need the space or meshes well with MIB, it'll stay.

The mystery plot can fit 1.5 Diagon Alleys so I'd say meshing with the theme would be the only issue

Is there a reason Kong was chosen at IOA instead of USF? Was it space?

The Kong they're going for (Peter Jackson's, I'm assuming) has a setting that works perfectly into IoA. And I'm sure space and distribution of attractions are factors, as well. Notice how they add a bit here, then there, then here, then there... Keeping both parks balanced

Men in black is still a very popular ride with high guest approval. It's not going anywhere until it absolutely has to.

I doubt they are bringing back Kong. They should just expand Jurassic park. It just doesn't make sense to me. The space isn't all that big for a new land. A land shouldn't just consist of a ride.

I see. I just remember the Kong taking over Disaster rumor. I for one was excited to have Kong back at USF. I always felt as though Islands had all of the good rides back then. I do like te balance though. Helps UNI to get people to go to both parks as opposed to heavily favoring one.

Has it been confirmed or at least hinted by universal?

As much as I love Jurassic Park, I think Kong is a better addition to the area. It fits in, but is totally different at the same time. Instead of another Jurassic Park ride, they could just do a big revamp of River Adventure. Add some amazing new dinos from the new movie or something. That will refresh the ride enough to draw people again (kind of like how they redid the Spiderman ride to make it all-new again).

Silly people. This isn't Kong. Everything at IOA is based off of literature. And Uni LOVES popular book franchises, right? So this is obviously going to be Forks, WA. FTW!

There's still the Trikes plot and Discovery Center area... JP will eventually get something since there's not much room at IOA to begin with.
