Knott's Scary Farm 2024

Finally making it to Scary Farm tomorrow. Is the Freak Plan(TM) still the way to go? Priority will obviously be the two new mazes, so I assume heading behind Ghostrider at rope drop is the move.

The Saint.Piss(TM) plan it is! I will report back.

I loved my gameplan with starting at Origins, moving to Grimoire, then going clockwise around the park starting with Room 13 and ending with the backstage mazes. Personally, I love first thing walking into the Ghost Town Streets. Being hit by that fog is an essential feeling to getting the night started. And even coming in an hour late, I still got everything I wanted done (skipped Bloodlines and Mesmer, but easily could've, I had plenty of extra time -- also didn't watch The Hanging but I am glad I didn't, it's terrible this year).

I went on Halloween and had a nice time. The vibe was great — both guests and the scare zone performers were in good spirit and Knott's does a really marvelous job dressing the park up for the holidays, whether it be Halloween or Christmas.

The mazes largely didn't work for me. The two new entries, Widows and Eight Fingers Nine, had some interesting scenes and art design but I found the stories a little half-baked. As always, I found the Scary Farm mazes to be pleasant to walk through but much more run dependent than other events when it comes to performer interaction.

But frankly, I don't go to Scary Farm for the mazes these days. I really enjoy walking through the scare zones which are fully realized at Knott's in a way they frankly are not at any other Halloween event I go to. The performers on the streets to a really nice job ad-libbing with guests and it's a really nice way to spend an evening.
