Aaaaaaad here we go again, some random influencer announces he's building a theme park in Vegas -with no investors and no land acquired- with an IG post filled with AI slop artwork.

New theme park announced: RetroEscapes, 'world's first nostalgia park' in Las Vegas

Dream Vision Mountain in Texas, America's Heartland in Oaklahoma, and now this will be added to the list of parks that will never get built.

Sucks because Las Vegas could really use a small park of some sort. Something like Cotaland at Austin would go hard for Vegas.

Reading the comments on the original IG post was so disappointing because I didn't see a single one that said "yeah this sounds like pure BS" :nervous:

I know its because I grew up in the 90s...but 90s Vegas was the best time for themed hotels, free shows on the strip and will always talk about just how fun this era of vegas was even as just a kid

Best times in Vegas was in the 60's and 70's when they gave you cheap hotel rates in deluxe themed hotels and 'free'
drinks in the casinos so you would come to Vegas and spend your money gambling. It was basically an adults only
city. When they did that "family' oriented marketing in the 90's, it killed the old fun for adults Vegas. And it's never been the
same since. Now you pay $30 or more for a drink and deluxe hotels charge WDW type rates.

As a non Gambler, for me the 90s even as an adult would have I still think been my peak but I get it used to be something insane before the 90s with all the free drinks and how the adult side of things went. Elvis, the Rat pack etc

But as someone who lovesssss theming I loved all the hotels feeling like Disneyland attractions you could just walk.

Really what killed Vegas is the same story as America its once private equlty got involved it was over and once the supreme court made it where making stock holders happy legally had to be your goal that is how we got to where we are now

Yeah, the 'mob' did a better job running the hotels. They knew where the pulse of America really was....drinking/sex/gambling/fun. :D :)
Leave the kids at home with a babysitter.

It won’t happen, but after hearing about the MGM Grand theme park, I would love for Vegas to try a theme park again. Would love to see a smaller scale version of those indoor parks they have at Dubai up there.

Again, I know it likely won’t happen, but I think the best case scenario would be to gut Adventuredome and start new. They can have a roller coaster that goes outside of it (Think Manta at Sea World Dubai).

I wish I had pictures, but I went to the MGM park as a kid. It was pretty cool for me, I think it might have cost too much but it was pretty well themed, had shows, the rides were fun and didn't have many lines

I hope The Netflix attraction comes to Vegas, I know its not a theme park but would love more attractions like Horror Unleashed in Vegas. Those are my main draw of why I go to Vegas is to walk the strip and see what free things I can and do one paid attraction when I visit
