The Mummy isn't going anywhere. It's by far the most popular indoor roller coaster at USH, not to mention one of the few "see the stars, ride the movies" concepts that thrived 20 years ago. When I went to HHN Hollywood last week, the lines were pretty long.

If we’re not getting Diagon Alley, the Monsters land, and a Nintendo expansion all built in that little area where the trees are being removed, then I’m going to be livid.

It's only the London phone booth from Diagon Alley/London. ;)

More to the point, though, part of the reason it's managed to survive (in addition to its relatively evergreen IP) is its status as the only true rollercoaster in the park. It'll be interesting to see if it finally falls once Fast and Furious comes online.

I'd take a Monsters Coaster or DK Coaster in a heart beat over the Mummy

Mummy is fun but the effects at this point suck or are just off....so almost anything is an improvement at this point

At least keep Mummy open until Hollywood Drift opens. The park needs the capacity until then. After that who cares.

I'm already seeing videos about this project

From this thread...It seems like nothing but Vloggers like to make videos that get views...so here we are.

Universal could put a new trashcan somewhere and vloggers would eagerly seize the opportunity to make 30-minute videos about how its placement clearly means something big is coming.

for what it’s worth for the Remove Mummy Movement - you should consider that Universal’s replacement for this scenario may quite literally be… Nothing. They are desperate for walking space on the Lower Lot.

That doesn't make sense to me. If you removed the Mummy for additional walking space, anyone who was riding the Mummy would just be in those same pathways, and lowering the capacity of the Lower Lot would make those paths more crowded than they already are.

Perhaps I should’ve phrased this better. I dont think another ride based attraction is what would replace Mummy.

Controversial take, but maybe with another IP-based show? USH desperately needs some big shows given the fact the Special Effects Show and Animal Actors Stage are removed for F&F coaster. The Lower Lot used to have some shows like the Special Effect Stages in the past.

I really think USH should have some sort of highly themed intermediate thrill coaster once Mummy leaves. Assuming though Mummy won’t be directly replaced with a ride, I think a good middle ground would be something like Danse Macabre at Efteling. That looks amazing as a “ride show”.

The Mummy can never die. This is canon. Imhotep lives.

I really hope that's not the case. A family-friendly coaster, mid-tier coaster, and a high-thrill coaster is the perfect offering for a park like this. Also, USH has been highly expansion-minded for the last eight years -- more expansion-minded than they've ever been, arguably. Dropping a popular ride just because a new, sorta similar one has opened doesn't feel like a move they'd make.

I think that's a good idea, but I can't think of any valuable IP Universal has for the Mummy replacement for that type of attraction. Honestly, the most valuable replacement I can think of is the DK roller coaster, which is something the park needs but isn't confirmed at this point.

I rather not lose another attraction

So if they can't put another E ticket, Fine

I know I'm in the minority on this but I would be fine with a show and Luigi's Mansion (using the Minions tech and walking pathway) replacing the Mummy

Its not a one for one but at least the same amount of people can be entertained and they can have bigger walkways

But my first vote would be for DK or a Monsters Coaster....theme coasters are to me the best. They can be thrilling but allow both older and younger guests to be allowed on.

Given DK's capacity issues, I don't think it's ever coming to Hollywood, not without massively expanding the area of the park.

Am I the only one thinking pound for pound mummy is the better choice against DK and Werewolf? DK is, as mentioned, a capacity nightmare and Werewolf is just a launched spinner that isn't even longer than hippogriff. I get that they are newer coasters but lets calm down a bit lol.

in fairness, I think jerrod was talking more generally (a "monsters coaster") rather than endorsing the werewolf coaster. I hear you though, we could do worse than Mummy.
