Seems they have now begun to recommence off of the project as they are now digging into the mountain (and as mentioned before, the project should be having a "Utility Events Space" as part of it).

Do we still think this isn't a theme park addition for guests or is there something else going on here?

Could just be terracing for drainage and hill stabilization as elsewhere on the property behind the soundstages. Though a roller coaster as part of a Simpson's land replacement would be nice.

I think it’s just hill stabilization like mentioned above. They put those metal braces on the brick wall a couple months ago. Could see the brick wall start to lean towards the fire road.

From Ryan Themepark, the hillside project is accelerating more and more. In contrast to @DrStarlander's point it seems that they are going to have a centralized area where it's flattened altogether; with the hillside itself staying somewhat the same.

That's definitely A LOT of land clearing & dirt pushing. Maybe we'll end up with an Upper Lot, Middle Lot & Lower Lot :lmao:

Yeah um... they've been working on this a lot longer than I thought they would. Maybe there's more to it after all? It's weird lol

Yeah, I'm not fully convinced this just hill stabilization at this point. Not like saying it's gonna be a new attraction or tram relocation or anything crazy like that. However, there might be a little more going on here than we think.

Or hey, maybe they need to dig this much to get the hill stabilized correctly for the retaining wall.

We'll find out sooner or later.

I've always thought the area of the hillside across from the little popcorn cart on the Star Way was a possible expansion area. It reminds me a bit of where the King Kong show building is

Via the permits--the project specified notes of a "Utility Events Space" that should be for HHN. TBH I still kind of wonder if there is more to this--if it means this could be the relocation area for the Studio Tour; but the permits have specified as such.

Randomly build earthquake-proof Sprung Tents for HHN between the Upper & Lower Lot..

I wonder if we found where the Tour will be relocated?

I still extremely wonder. It would be a smaller area though; unless if they're gonna make the queue for a relocated Studio Tour different as a part of this. I brought up previously that I genuinely think we need to reconsider the viability of the current Studio Tour plaza, and the good that could be done if you used it to expand the park.

Doesn't have to be with a expansion in Falls lake mind you! But a expansion that uses the Studio Tour Plaza and the current tram depot for maintenance would give them quite a bit of land for something unique. Something that could be good for Hollywood. Hoping this is an indication of that potential shifting (Even if it'd be weird in how they get people to the load/unload).

I just wanna say that this was confirmed to just be utility space…. (There’s was a general employee email a friend showed me and it talks about this construction)

The hillside stuff is probably just trying to fix the problem and get rid of the hillside

I posted this when it first started too.. I was like it’s not a secret what their building there. it affected the ADA drop off and pick up route, so an announcement to employees were made explaining the construction.
