Closing it 2 weeks after Epic Universe opens is dark and frustrating. It’s like they’re trying to bury that this is happening as attention will for sure be all over Epic Universe.

I'm also not particularly impressed that they repeated -- verbatim -- the claim that they're "exploring" ways to "preserve" Muppet*Vision.

Seems like the sort of thing they'll keep saying, then eventually stop saying it without following-through, and hope everyone forgot they said it in the first place.

Eh, I'm skeptical there's any connection to Epic Universe. They've given a reasonably long runway for fans to visit one more time, which I think is good. I imagine if there is a real effort to preserve the film, it'll be just that - preserving the film at a museum or something of the sort. I can't imagine they're actually considering packing the entire theater up along with the pre-show to install it elsewhere.

My guess is all the Muppet props will end up in a museum or sent to the Walt Disney archives in Burbank.

Yeah, but at the very same time... can't we just completely GUT the Honey, I Shrunk the Audience theatre that mostly does Pixar shorts now and put Muppet Vision 3D in there?

i know i'm at the 'denial' and 'bargaining' phase of grief, but let's be honest... the story already has Waldo talking about the power of science vs imagination... like... on a scale of BAD to GREAT fits... it's not necessarily a bad fit right next to Figment!

It would need a sizable amount of work - for example the penguins are pretty important to the storyline. But a lot of things could be reworked to fit the existing Magic Eye theater without a lot of investment. Stadler/Waldorf and the Swedish Chef could be screen-based… figure out Bean and Sweetums… even the preshow video could be mirrored to reflect the theater being to the left instead of the right and then cleaned up like how they photoshopped “Disneyland Resort” off the kid’s shirt in the Soarin’ preshow.

I don’t think it’s probable, but I’ve thought from the beginning that it’s certainly possible.

Yeah, my suggestion is more or less a suggestion akin to how Uncle Walt originally had Small World/Carousel of Progress able to be dismantled and brought to the NY World's Fair. Hindsight would suggest that they totally have the ability to take everything apart and keep things relatively intact if they took the extra time and necessary care to do so. What i'm suggesting is they close the Magic Eye theater and legit bring EVERY element from the show over, including the balcony animatronics, front stage animatronics, ceiling projectors, bubblemakers, etc., really, whatever else they need to in order to keep MuppetVision 3D alive. Mitigate them having to convert things to digital accessories or screens by simply bringing them over and seeing what they can try to make fit. I totally realize i'm making it sound like unplugging your VCR and bringing it over to your friends house and i know it's not that simple, but what i'm saying is, if we have all the time in the world, it should AT LEAST be on the table? I personally don't care if it took 2 or 3 YEARS to do it. To me, that's better than losing it for good...

I can see it now... MAGIC EYE THEATRE: UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT, cause that's never been a bad idea, right? .... right?

This looks incredible. Genuinely kind of amazed they're actually doing this for the door coaster (especially considering it's two dual loads that then interconnect).

Also looks like they're using the controlled rotation mechanism from FLY in Phantasialand I think for the sake of once you reach the top of the elevator lifts; which is also cool in and of itself.

Looks like dual loading, nice. It's gonna be fun watching people getting lifted up in the air as you wait! I wonder if the rotating seats are going to be used for scenes, it's probably for loading people in.

Dual-Dual loading it looks.

In the conceptuals and mockups it seems there will be two shared dual load stations in the load dock; and both of the dual loads then connect to the central track. Their solution it seems to this ride not going to have the capacity in comparison to that of Cosmic Rewind, is to increase the amount of trains that can load and unload riders.
