Yeah, it defiantly does feel that way with the late announcement that they would be there and it being after they announced the show. Also being after they made the going on tour announcement for the group.

It's not that it was announced in July, it's that the Fuel Girls were said to be on tour and a couple weeks later after the HHN announcement said they will be there.

Well they definitely are on tour, but I guess the group has more people in it than we all realized lol

From what I recall, they announced those tour dates way before HHN even announced Nightmare Fuel 2026.

It was already decided months ago, by the rumor mill, that Nightmare Fuel wasn't coming back, likely on the faulty assumption that the Fuel Girls weren't coming back (because of the tour dates). None of that turned out to be true.

I'm really not seeing anything different this year compared to previous years which screams to me that this was last minute.

I can't visit the site now (their site isn't 100% SFW), but I'm pretty sure the Fuel Girls site lists like a dozen members of their team. We've never had the entire Fuel Girls troop in Orlando. So nothing has changed there either.

My personal speculation on the Fuel Girls thing went like this:

We heard all of last season that the Fuel Girls contract was ending.

When Nightmare Fuel got announced a couple of weeks ago, there wasn’t any acknowledgment at all from the Fuel Girls social media accounts. I assumed, just like most everyone else on here, that meant they weren’t going to be involved.

Perhaps they weren’t “officially” back yet and were still negotiating parts of a new contract?

It’s seems possible to me that Universal was prepared to move on with different performers if they didn’t get a contract done in time. The show is really just a collection of differently skilled performers that are tied together with an original story.

This is all just my speculation.

Fuel Girls contract could have been ending and it got resigned. Timeframe unknown (late 2025?). From there, because of the lack of leaks/solid information, people started running wild with theories.

Keep in mind, as far as I'm aware, the only solid rumor we had was that the contract was "ending." I think this was misinterpreted; I think the contract date was nearing the time they would need to renew. This is similar to any contract Universal might have with any third party, like WB/Rowling, for example. The assumption is that everyone wants to renew (or not), and allows both parties to negotiate.

I think people heard the contract "end date" was coming up and assumed this meant they specifically weren't renewing. I think the first part is true (end date might have been 2025) but the second part I think was just people's misunderstand of the contract.
