Question time:

If Nintendo World phase 1 really is going to go in the new park, how will Universal Orlando handle announcing "more details" about it this year, as promised?

Do y'all really think we'll see an announcement for the new park this year? Or even an announcement that includes a sentence or two mentioning a new park that hasn't even broke ground yet, (and apparently the content of which is still very much in flux?)

Something I've been pondering.

Maybe “phase 1” for Orlando is Zelda at IoA and not Mario which was hinted at a while ago by @Disneyhead. Then they could make a very vague third park announcement and that Mario will be there.

“Mario will appear in a very exciting future project at Universal Orlando Resort so stay tuned.”

Personally I feel opening with the weakest offering is... unwise. But hey, that's one solution, yea.

it's not the best idea, but IOA needs something new, either this or new JP would work(JP probably safer) but personally I'm foaming at the mouth for LC to be demoed for a huge new fantasy themed land.

Probably hinges on the resolution of the foreclosure case. May 10th?

Even so, given how late Universal announces projects that are already half-built, do we really expect an announcement this year for a new park, just so they can keep their promise of giving us more Nintendo details?

Hypothetically, they could do it one of two ways:

1.) Have a piece of conceptual artwork, similar to the Osaka art, but instead of having a logo of USF or Islands, it's just the generic Universal Orlando Resort logo.

Or

2.) Announce the expansion plans with Super Nintendo World: Mushroom Kingdom, and say that more will be spoken at a later date with the piece of concept art.

There can be a third option however, if LC goes down by the beginning of 2019, they could perhaps go and announce Zelda and leave the Southern plans for a later time.

Option number 1 seems plausible.

As far as Zelda going to Lost Continent... To be frank, if there were plans already in place, I'd probably know about it, so at this point, that's probably just speculation on our part. Or, at best, very early blue sky with no concrete plans yet.

Not to mention that anybody interested knows Comcast didn't acquire that land to grow bananas for minions.

I just don't see them even mentioning it in a press release until they're ready with the full reveal... Like full on scale-model-in-a-new-preview-center sized reveal.

I was referring to this, not sure if reputable or not.

Well, I’m hearing it’s pretty locked in for Nintendo at the new park. I also heard Zelda is pretty much a shoo-in for LC. Then some stuff about Pokémon at KZ. I also heard some more stuff but that’s what it’s looking like right now. Take it with a grain of salt, but I’m hearing stuff is pretty much locked.

I have a lot of details for Nintendo sure, but of course some may be outdated as of now. I am just sharing what I know, and what I do not know.

As far as I know, nothing is a "shoo-in" for anywhere right now, lol.

Pokemon potentially taking over KidZone worries me a bit, (I know there really isn't anything concrete this is even being considered) I feel like if it was in Park 3 or replacing something in IOA like Toon Lagoon they would be more inclined to really flesh out the IP and make the most of it, however it was replacing Kid Zone I could see them taking the cheap way out (considering what it's replacing) and just adding some flat rides and a playground.. I want a Pokemon E-ticket!

Who's to say they can't do that, but with a 7.63 acre land (similar size to Diagon btw) instead of putting it alongside of Mario at Gate 3?

It's bigger. Weren't the original SNW plans 8.8 acres?

I think they still could, but with a new park and a potential lost continent replacement in the works, they still might be eager to replace KidZone, but their focus could be elsewhere and since what it would replacing wouldn't be high capacity to begin with they could just take the easy/cheap way out..
