So all the rumors and speculation seem to be a bust for this week so the only logical conclusion is that if we get any news this year it’ll be during the investor call on November 5th. Possibly an announcement of when they’ll be doing a full reveal. It’s seeming to be less likely that we get a simple trailer like for the Switch 1.

It’s been over 24 hours now since Nintendo has tweeted anything. Their investors meeting is on November 5th, their big announcements are almost always on Thursdays, and with the original Switch they tweeted out a teaser for the reveal trailer the day before after silence all day. IMO, if a console reveal is going to happen this year it will be today/tomorrow

Why do you say the 7th? Wouldn't it be either before their investors meeting on the 5th or next year? They only have two games with release dates for all of 2025, both being Wii/U ports, and they don't anything going on other than that besides this music app and Alarmo. I would've figured now would be the logical time to announce something and get investors excited

If Nintendo wanted my money for old games they should’ve sold them on the eShop. I much prefer buying what I want and then not having to spend monthly. Plus now I have access to EVERY old console and not just the Nintendo ones.

Nintendo has had a history of wiping uploads of their music off of YouTube. They may see releasing this app as further justification to do, and they may crack down much harder on it going forward.

Well everyone, tonight’s the night. Nintendo’s quarterly call will happen and it’s the last chance of anything Switch 2 related being talked about in 2024. Imo the idea of some kind of trailer release is gone. The most we could get is something like saying a more specific time of when they’ll be announcing it. Due to how time zones work I think it’ll be around midnight eastern time that we’ll start hearing about what’s going on at the meeting.

So all they did was reconfirm that they’ll announce it before the end of the fiscal year in March. Expect rumors of an announcement to pretty much die now until January.

I don’t think so but we’ll see. If they were going to say when the announcement is coming I don’t feel like they would do it to just answer an investors question.

Leaving the hype behind for a second I think this is a good strategic announcement. The games released this year have sold kind of softly so maybe Nintendo’s thought process here is to assure people that might just be waiting for this kind of news that any games bought now for the holidays will still work on the successor console next year.
