Nintendo has now sold over 5 million Nintendo Switch 2 consoles worldwide

Nintendo has revised its sales figures for the Nintendo Switch 2 and has revealed that the system has now surpassed 5 million units sold worldwide, which is an impressive figure.

I mean, I own it and I think unless you loveeeee Nintendo games then the system really is just a weaker steam deck

Like for me as a console it does nothing better then other handhelds...I just want Nintendo games but as a system its not that impressive to me at least for sure for the same price you can get a better system

For Fan boys congrats the system is doing well and now we pay more for games...what a victory for gamers

I personally subscribe to the rumor that this is a smaller spun-off portion of the Odyssey development crew, and the larger portion of the team is still working on 3D Mario to release in a year or two. That makes a lot of sense to me, and the person who said it originally apparently is pretty reputable.

I believe this rumor as well, and it's absolutely terrifying (in the best way) that Bananza would likely be the "small" game compared to the next 3D Mario.

The original rumor from way back when also stated that this spun-off portion is not just for Bananza, but rather now their own EPD/task force specifically for Donkey Kong games. Makes me wonder if Retro is now just gonna be the Metroid studio and won't be doing a new DKC anytime soon (which would be a lil disappointing, I loved Returns and Tropical Freeze).

Dude I’m a D1 Steam Deck glazer but the two systems couldn’t be more different and they compliment each other perfectly, First of all, Switch 2 is vastly vastly more powerful. Like not even close. You cannot get a better system for this price right now, especially not a hybrid that will get endless exclusives.

Steam Deck is for getting like 10 games for $100 on sale and emulation so you don’t ever need to buy overpriced rereleases. I got Doom 2016 for $5 on there and it’s a perfect experience. That game is $25 on the OG Switch and is vastly compromised for that things power level.

Switch 2 is for playing Nintendo games, whatever other exclusives will release like Duskbloods and games like Cyberpunk, Elden Ring and Hogwarts Legacy (hopefully Indiana Jones down the line) that barely function on Steam or other handheld PCs.

I don’t know why the internet has decided to pit these two systems against each other when A: the power difference is so vast that they aren’t really worth comparing and B: they actually compliment each other perfectly and the Steam Deck is an undeniably niche product that isn’t going after the same market at all

I mean, for me I got Mario Kart

The game is not worth 80 bucks...and the exclusives need to level up before I tell anyone this is a needed system. They can promise all they want the amazing ones are coming but....I see nothing that is a must play for this kinda money you have to throw down for the system

I play fortnite on it, so it can be somewhat worth it but,.....I'm not telling anyone its a must have system. The Zelda hack and slash I doubt does anything we have not see before...most games coming out are just Switch 1 games but they look nicer nothing that the switch could not play by toning down the game a little even Mario Kart World...is someone really going to argue it can't be played on the switch?

I'm just not really seeing anything about the system that makes its a must have and would tell most right now wait

I’ve got both as well. I’m really hoping for Switch 2 upgrades of both DOOM games.
