I'm sorry, I couldn't pass up the chance to post one of my favorite Simpsons clips of all time :)

So you would be cool going to an NFL game or another major sporting event with no security?? MK has a capacity of 100,000 people. Any event which has that many people in one place will ALWAYS have security…

Security theater is definitely a big part of security, but it goes both ways. People are less likely to try stuff if they see security.

Also let’s not forget what part of what finally brought about metal detectors to USH, and that an event like that hasn’t happened since…

USH had security and a dude still brought a gun in and there was a casualty IN the kids area of the park. And this was this past decade.

This was prior to them adding the metal detectors. This is literally my point

If its fast, I don't care

Its when they do it the slow way like at Disney and don't have enough bag booths at six flags when it bugs me

Listen you want to check me fine, no issues but it needs to be fast if I'm waiting for then 10 mins your under staffing or your process sucks

like 99% of the time it takes me less then 10 mins to get into USH from security, my issue would mainly be if these are understaffed and it takes like 15-20 mins just to get into citywalk

Of course, I don't we have to but I get it people are stupid and just even worst now then ever they will being in alcohol and weapons that are not needed. The more annoying part will be HHN where you can't bring food in which to me is a joke

I know, it was to it, not against it! I’m for these things and plus, it minimizes the awkward bottlenecking that I hate going through prior to the glide at the main entrance. It’s also just a sign of the times and creating easier crowd flow.

it seems you're talking about two different things: security lines outside an area (metal detectors, bomb sniffing dogs, whatever) and security/plain clothes inside the secure area. security inside the park? i don't have a strong opinion, though i'm skeptical of how much violence they deter.

but security to get into the park? you realize that magic kingdom had that capacity for decades before they started wanding your diaper bag, right? no, i don't think it's necessary nor do i think it's effective at stopping what it says it's stopping. and i'm certainly of the mind that this big increase in security presence in every facet of our (american) lives has made our lives worse.

Construction walls have since surrounded IFly as demoliton has begun over there as of yesterday. I wonder how long it's gonna take until we get the Western Security Hub to begin demolition and clearing--as the big thing that will need to be addressed with that one is on the prospects of re-routing the walk to the park from the Hilton.

EDIT: Nothing much new as of today.

I hope they go to the security they have at Universal Florida, Disneyworld, MM, and Knotts, where you just walk through the metal detectors and you don't have to put your bags etc through the x-ray. The security setup at USH is so outdated. What drives me crazy is how the 3 security guars at each lane crowd the belt. Especially the one after you walk through. He/She stands right near the metal detector and belt, lets too many people through, and then everyone is waiting to gather their belongings.

Compared to Disneyland is much quicker but would not fight them updating it to be even quicker

Outdated? Not really. I find the security xray much more efficient than the shakedown technique of them pilfering through your bag(s).

The only problem with USH is the cramped set-up & them not using all of the check points causing lines to form.

No pilferring through bags. At Disneyworld, USF, Knotts, and MM, you just walk through. If the detectors sense something, then you are flagged for secondary screening.

I'm well aware of how it's done. I'm just not a fan of security checkpoints in general, but unfortunately they're necessary.

But again, a visual screening is better than playing "beep roulette" with the metal detectors

I second Wesker here

Time your self with Bag and USH is the best...now none bag people MM is great but Six Flags MM bag check sucks because many times they only have one or two lanes open for that

I think the longest I've had to wait a USH is maybe...maybe 10 mins this last year, through will say if you come at peak time for an AP event or HHN that could be worst

As groundbreaking occurs for the East Security Hub by IFLY occurs--the Central Security Hub is now well underway on clearing trees and breaking the ground.
