For the life of me, I cannnot figure out what their plan is here. The apparent walls at the far end don’t make any sense to me.

Didn't get a photo of the current progress (or lack thereof), but i did find out a little about the area next to Jurassic Parking

So as we've already seen the elevator being added to the exterior of Jurassic, I was told there will also be escalators similar to Disneyland's Parking garage set-up that leads to the security check.

Also, the tram that shuttles bodies up/down the Universal hill of doom will also be relocated to this current dirt plot next to Jurassic.

And then of course the security check point will be right there leading into that Citywalk domed hub (guessing at least).

I'm talking about these walls. What are they going to accomplish? And where are these escalators going to go with these walls in the way?

I also can't really figure out how they are going to get people to safely cross all the active parking garage traffic to this area. The Disney parking garage has a dedicated path along one end to lead people directly to the escalators. There's nothing like that in Jurassic. They did a short test run of putting up guided gates during HHN if I recall, and it seemed like a mess

Too be fair... this entire project is a mess.. so I don't have any answers lol

It's pretty much a "wait & see" situation unfortunately. Hopefully it becomes more clear once more progress has been made

This is going to be such an exciting project. When this opens I will have to skip eating at Cane’s before going to see Avengers Doomsday in IMAX because I’ll be waiting so long in that security line. Yay.

Have been mulling on the Escalators comment--and a thought rings to my head.

Is there a chance that they have a overhang bridge, that connects from one end of the Jurassic structure to bring people to the central hub.

In contrast to say Curious George, that seems to be using the current infrastructure of the structure and forcing people to go through one direction; but I wonder if Jurassic is the most *involved* out of the process of having to work with the variable of the shuttle routes. Would certainly make sense that they might be needing to take their time.

___

Also, in what should hopefully mean the main neon sign is safe; they are repainting the neon sign water basin to the side of the theme park. Should hopefully mean that it is safe from being torn apart and demolished when they begin work on the Frankenstein project in the coming month or so.

Maybe just wait and see what happens? Maybe they restripe the parking lot. Maybe they add a walkway. Nothing to lose sleep over. Just go to the park and enjoy yourself.

Not sure this comment was necessary. This is a theme park discussion forum. We're... discussing.

Meanwhile I laugh as someone who uses Metro who will just have to deal with what they do with shuttle service so I don't go up the mountain of doom on foot.

I hope this goes well

But I dislike the plan. Just let people park and only have to go through detectors if they are going to the park like they have for 30 years

This is soooo much money for something I just don't thinks NEEDS to be done. It would have cost wayyyyy less to make a new hub at the end of citywalk near the hotel

USH takes me soooo much less time to get in compared to Six Flags and Disneyland

Definitely a business move aswell. Most likely wont keep people out, but creating a bubble and a smidge more of a hassle, will keep people in longer and spend more money.

I get that. My point was let’s just see what happens. There are no published plans to know what is happening. I am discussing this also.

Yes, but we have some walls going up, an apparent elevator shaft, and footers going in what seems to me an odd direction for a security area.

Am I staying up nights about this? Absolutely not. But am I trying to even see where they're going with this plan? Absolutely. Part of the discussion is speculation.

I just wish they would've done this security portal thing 10+ years ago back when those "evolution/expansion plans" were being pushed. 3 major parking garage structures later is poorly planned with a project like this

Hell... they ripped out that former Asian restaurant next to Frankenstein only to do nothing with it except use it for storage, sometimes parking.

They’ve left Fung Lum as a parking lot due to the change in property/county lines being redrawn. Fung Lum used to be in LA county, now it’s in LA city. The change allowed the lines to move all of Woody Woodpecker lot to be in LA County were it was previously split half in City and half in County, My guess, is the hotel that was planned for Fung Lum was cancelled once the lines were redrawn.

^I was always wondering what happened to that plan. That makes a lot of sense.
