I don't want to hate...but Cara Dune actress is just ok. I do not think she alone could carry a show.

I think it will be like Rebels where it's a group and she is in it and a main characters but for sure will not be the main focus just one of the people they focus on. Most other side shows have a name of the main characters like Lando or Andor. Think she will be apart of a bigger cast

Who's the guy from Kim's convenience that has been a Rebellion pilot in a few episodes this season? I think that guy could be getting a sizeable role in the show. I really hope Filoni's character is left out.

I think for the most part he will be....Filoni was basically forced by John into the role. I doubt he will do more than an Cameo and yes it would make sense that pilot would be in some way apart of the show.
Also not crazy for Hera, Kallus, or Zeb to show up

At the very least show us why there's such political apathy towards the Outer Rim or why the New Republic was unable to prevent the rise of the First Order (those non-isolated events the Kim's Convenience guy was discussing with Cara).

You're right. Wookieepedia confirms it. Presumably Leia has gone into politics, explaining her absence in the outer rim.

Also hoping we see characters from Rebels like Zeb and Callus. Also inferno squad since Janina Gavankar did make a "cameo" in Episode three of Mando as an alien, I think she would for sure be willing to come back in and play Iden. Shiv would also be cool because any aliens in the new Republic are welcome we hear about how open the new republic is but its always humans.

As The Mandalorian shows we don't need the OT characters to be front and center. Star Wars is a BIG universe let other original characters spend some time in the spotlight.

I agree.

Like I said in one of my posts, I really hope the OT characters stay away from the The Mandalorian and Mando-adjacent shows as much as possible. If cameos here and there MAKE SENSE, then sure, that's fine since they were around, but I love The Mando characters and kinda just want to hang with them.

I'm not saying they will be main characters but I expect some of the OT cast to show up, I also think many of the actors would like to still be apart of it. I'm sure the C3-PO actor and even Lando would not mind appearing. Others point to Rebels for Thrawn and how he might be...well I point to Rebels and say we have many OT characters there and a few now in Mando....so don't be surprised when they show up in shows connected to the new Republic.

I'll also make a guess the the Next Battlefront Video game could focus on this time period and be the game with some of the characters as well.

Everyone got excited. So did I. But from probably the majority of people, I’ve heard people say while they loved it, they don’t want this to become regular.

Luke can’t keep showing up unless they power him down. We’re talking about Mando, who is a great fighter and everything, but he had a Hard Time with ONE Dark Trooper whereas Luke just ran right through them. If they constantly fall back on level 500 characters in a level 50 show, then I’ll be out.

On Boba Fett, that’s COMPLETELY different. He’s almost like a new character to me. He did zip in the OT aside from fall into a Sarlacc pit. It was the legend that got built about him being a total badass which is why he’s on the show to begin with. And in comparison to the others, he’s not OP like the Luke is. Now we do have Ahsoka who will be way more powerful than anyone else in Mando’s orbit (other than Luke) but at least she’ll be in her own show doing things with people at her strength or stronger.

The key with using OT characters is small doses.

I'd agree with Nick on this one: It doesn't make sense to continuously bring back OT characters in every chance they have. Small glimpses; in the realm of cameos, make more sense than to have them constantly show up.

As far as Battlefront is concerned..they already did that with Battlefront 2? Hence why you actually got a reference out of that story mode with Operation Cinder in Mayfield's backstory. Honestly, I'd be expecting them to have Battlefront 3 (if they break the 3 curse with that series); to be set in-between The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker. With the year jump, there is a little bit of things they could do with the allocated time.

Back to the thread at hand...I do think Rangers of the New Republic could be a fascinating chance to show the divide between how NR officers conduct, to how Empire officers conduct. They've done so well so-far with the characterization of both sides on The Mandalorian; especially on Empire. And it'd be interesting to see how layered NR's military and diplomatic structure can be. If they can bring some of the layers that were originally going to be done for Duel of The Fates with this show; having Mayfield be potentially able to show Empire officers that there's no sense to what they're doing, I'd honestly love that.
