Perhaps the real leg ticklers were the friends we made along the way.

As spotted by Orlando Informer, this is a promising sign…

I know it is very unlikely but now I have a slight hope that this will be open in some capacity for my trip June 23rd

Guess he's still gonna have to keep waiting on that cup of coffee.

...and so since the old storyline is staying, naturally this must mean the six-month refurbishment was to bring the leg ticklers back online! I told you all from the beginning!

Am I going out on a limb to say we probably won't notice most of the updates that have been made?

After every maintenance period theme parks should just put out a statement like they do with most app updates. You know, the ones like Thanks for riding Revenge of the Mummy! We update our ride regularly to make it faster and more reliable.

That ruins the fun we have of debating if things changed or not though!

Or they could just get rid of a bunch of the theming and rename the ride to Scary Egyptian Monster Movie: A Major Motion Picture: Starring YOU

In all seriousness I’m quite hopeful. Even if not much theming was changed, I’m sure technical aspects were changed and updated to keep the ride operating for decades to come

I personally would rename it to: Nondescript Coaster themed to Egypt or whatever.

I'm going to legit be disappointed if after 6 months they've made zero changes to this other than the ride control system. It looks like the "hot set" at the front will remain as well? Wasn't that essentially the one thing we had confirmation was changing since you don't spend enough time in that small room to see any of that pre-show anyway?

The first room changing to a general museum look to match the exterior would have been great but instead we still have "hot set" and TVs broadcasting VHS quality footage?

If they’re going to keep the queue video, I do wish they’d remaster the footage. It looks pretty bad.

(I’d also love if the savvy folks looking to expand the resort’s Internet footprint would throw fans a bone and release the full video loop. There’s a ton of great content on there that almost no one sees!)

Assuming the projections in the ride are getting upgraded, you'd think they're remastering the queue video as well.

Technically nothing was confirmed by Universal.

Insiders speculated there COULD be changes to the pre-show/story.

Universal said it was just a refurbishment so anything additional is just a plus, compare this to Hulk in 2016 where they promised waaaay more.

I mean several pieces of track being replaced over the course of a few months is pretty reasonable to expect only that

Although I'm curious if the breaking and launch system received an upgrade as well

I won’t be disappointed if the fixed/upgraded the core of the attraction. I mean the queue and pre show are important as well but most people tend to be mixed on changes like that. So it’s best they focus on the ride system instead.

I believe all the track was replaced which means the launch system too.
