This is my main concern about the project. I can see the justification behind replacing Aerosmith with something else and I think the Muppets will work fine... but the Muppets are a family-friendly IP. People see Kermit, and they instantly associate it as a family experience.

Imagineers constantly discuss in interviews how a major concern of theirs is how to describe the experience without spoiling it to people in advance. RNR's facade has the inverted Cadillac at the entrance, so that quickly tells people this is an inverting coaster.

Seems strange to have a Muppets tag on such a high thrill coaster. I don't understand the reasoning....Personally, I like the theme, but I don't get what demographic they're going for. Kids sure aren't going to ride that. It's certainly no Slinky or Goofy type coaster that kids could ride.

FWIW a The Goofy Movie-themed RNRC would have the same issues. Aging IP mostly aimed at audiences that can't ride.

Hey hey hey... let's watch it with that "aging IP" talk.. A Goofy Movie was just released this past April. There's no way its 30 years old & I saw it in theatres or watched it several hundred times at my grandparents house

But in fairness, it would give them an excuse to have a new meet-n-greet/photo-op created in the area. As for the ride itself, two song options "Stand Out" & "Eye to Eye" alternating.

Just because it is a beloved animated movie doesn't mean it needs to be restricted to an all-ages ride. Powerline should've been RNR from day one instead of Aerosmith, but thats Disney's short-sighted decision.

Muppets falls into this same category. However, if they would just bite the bullet & build the "Great Muppet Movie Ride" next to RNR, you'd cater to everyone- thrill seekers & family-friendly.
(Just relocate the Villains show)

I can see Ms Piggy launching the coaster before the Muppets are “ready” for us to go, a la Toothless on Hiccups Winggliders. It works but should be a retrack.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Muppet Vision replace the Villains show once Villains land comes online. I don't think Muppet Vision will return in its previous form, but updated with modern day effects and new film.

I think Disney decided that the Muppets needed a presence in the park, but not a substantial costly addition. A light retheme of RNR & Sunset Showplace can do well.

I'm sure the coaster will still be popular with long lines, primarily because it's one of the few thrill coasters on WDW property. But it will be a question in the minds of young kids who will be thinking....WHY?.......This is like if Universal would retheme Revenge of the Mummy to the Minions. Like, Huh?

Don't you wish that evil upon us by speaking this into the universe that is now epic!

As for this though, I really hope they're smart enough to relocate the Muppets fountain to the RNR courtyard. As well as other queue/pre-show props/set pieces to retheme the RNR queue & giftshop.

Yes, may as well go all out on the theming. Like I said above, I'll love this retheme. I was ambivalent concerning Aerosmith. But I pity the poor parents of a screaming youngster..."Mommy, mommy, I want to go on this Muppet ride now" ....Mom: " No way. Over my dead body. I curse whoever came up with this idea". ;) :lmao:

I do hope they redo the RNRC extended queue. Inside is fine, but that exterior switchback queue is embarrassing for a Disney park.

Just a complete mis-match of IP and ride-- even if it's Doctor Teeth & The Electric Mayhem's Rock-N-Rollercoaster it's a blunder.

Now have the Muppets take over Hall of Presidents...

That would be a better fit for the Muppets. Their short lived Liberty Square street show was pretty damn entertaining.

I want the ride to have good music and I just I don't feel it will with Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem

No 401K here but I am getting a NYS pension though.

I’ll jump on the bandwagon and say I’m a bit puzzled by this decision but I will withhold judgement until it opens. With the right theme and set decoration it might not be that bad.

The main issue is... The Muppets don't scream high-speed inverting roller coaster as far as on-board audio/music.

The launch gimmick is very Muppet style mayhem.

If it were a Bluey or Encancto coaster, I would understand the critique, but the Muppets are in a similar spot to the Looney Tunes in being a nostalgic property that's been completely misused to the point where the target audience has evolved from kids to... people who watched the characters as kids. I don't really think giving them an intense coaster is all that questionable at this point. I love the Muppets as much as the next person, and I'm sure the kids who are introduced to them in 2025 will enjoy them like we do, but unfortunately that is not exactly happening in high volumes anymore.
