See, I think OBAA deserves Best Director, but a part of the film kind of mentally felt really *off*? If that is a good way of saying it.
Leo didn't really do his best in comparison to other roles from the past decade, the film tonally played a off-beat filter that didn't quite sit right, and while it deserves the technical credits for the directing, Sinners feels like a stronger package for a more consistent film overall.
I'm gonna give OBAA another shot tonight, but I don't quite feel sold on OBAA winning when I think Sinners justifies itself more.
