For what’s its worth, I can confirm the project is still very much on, so far lol.

Action should start up again in June/July. However the coaster has gone through some…changes. And now will be presented very much like a Cedar Fair ride. Name, theme, colors have all changed.

Okay, this was what I must've heard since apparently the new attraction was now something entirely different than what I initially heard.

I would presume they have kept the base layout of the Vekoma Thrill Glider, no? Would be surprising if they suddenly changed course especially with a layout now out there.

@Southerncoasterer @chris.g if anything that might mean this is a larger win than people realize. SFOG did similar to what SFMM is seemingly doing with their Intamin Halfpipe model; and it seems to of paid off remarkably well for them.

What do you mean, "presented very much like a Cedar Fair ride"?

If it's in the style of what I think it's meaning--having thematic elements to compliment the scale and scope of the attraction. Rapterra has actually quite a bit of theming going for it, and when Cedar Fair executives looked to what is now Gold Rusher at SFOG, they radically changed the presentation of that to match a new thematic angle for the area it was in.

I'm guessing if what @chris.g and @Southerncoasterer have said, is to expect something in-between either/or of these (or going more elaborate like Rapterra's in order to compete with Hollywood Drift).

Just a reminder that walls went up around the Golden Bear Theater and demolition began January 2024. Site hasn’t changed much since then other than tree removal. Another example of an SFMM project moving at a SNAILS pace. I’m predicting a 2027 opening.

Does Vekoma manufacture their track in the US or Europe? That could be the deciding factor with tariffs...

Europe I think--they have to send it down to Italy like what Zamperla does I think. Can be wrong on that though; but that might explain delays in track arrivals.

So does this mean that the rumored waterfall down the old Golden Bear theater seats foundation may actually happen?

Six Flags had an instagram post

Confirming that the same heroes from last year would be featured. still hoping the Flash might pop up as well because...they literally just hired him but we will see

But yeah no Lex Luthor....i get budget money money but sucks the company isn't run by someone who enjoys the the DC Comics IP

Did you read the article? There is no "fresh blood". It's just blanketed oversight now.

Why is regional management bad?

^Put it in terms of education... imagine all the principals of local high schools were fired, and instead, there was only one principal for, say 5 different schools. Do you think the schools would be run as well?

Remove the individual lights that could strengthen and give the parks the best that they can, and you automate them into lesser forms of themselves that falls to what is best for the "Per Regional" managemental roles.

With CGA and it's waterpark going to die in a year or two, West Coast will have SFDK, SFMM/SFHH, Knotts/Soak City, and HH Phoenix. That's going to be a considerable amount of properties for one regional manager to handle upon themselves and to ensure that all 6 destinations will be able to maintain themselves.
