It's really nothing new on this attraction. Since I really love the ride and I've rode it many dozens of times, I've made it a habit to talk to the ride ops. From my conversations with them, they've adjusted the the number of trucks running, according to the crowd, ever since the attraction opened. I've been told that if it's slow, especially in the morning, they'll only run two trucks. If they only run two trucks, regardless of the weather, they will not use the outside portion. That's why you'll often see the ride only running indoors, even if the weather isn't lightening/raining. When it gets busier they'll run three or four trucks to adjust for the crowd. They have five trucks, but can only run four maximum at a time. Even if they've decided not to run the fourth truck in the near future, it shouldn't make all that much of a difference, especially since there's only about ten days left until the crowds start to drop. Looking at today's posted times, when the weather was OK, line times really didn't change noticeably..... Four trucks running is better than three for sure, but I don't think they can run four trucks anyway when it's just indoors because of the weather, since it's a shorter ride. .
