For a city that's so important to American history, Philly at least deserved a fly-by.

I'd also argue Chicago.

The fact Mid-Americana landscapes in general was kind of omitted feels really weird to do, especially given landmarks and landscapes. You would think given their place in America's history, Chicago and Pittsburgh would've actually been given some love.

Yes, Chicago is an important American city, but Philly is where America literally became America. That’s the point.

The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the First Congress, the first nation’s capital, the Liberty Bell… that’s all Philly.

Omissions are always gonna happen, but if the film is a celebration of the 250 years of America, there should at least be a nod to where the dang country started.

As someone that’s from the area you don’t have to tell me, we can always tell the people that easily fall for the national media’s narrative!

So true....I was just joking about the booing , but on the serious side....I'd guess Disney didn't include smaller structures like the Declaration signing building in an urban area, since they're aiming for big splash building with landscape included scenes from an arial view that are panoramic in effect.

I don’t think the Philadelphia thing has anything to do with Comcast lol. I think it’s as simple as the only notable landmark there is Independence Hall, which is located in the middle of a city square that was either un-exciting or un-reasonable to fly through.

For a IMAX ride you need big, recognizable monuments. They also omitted Plymouth Rock lol.

Yeah, while, in theory, I agree that Philadelphia is crucial to the story of America's founding... which other (more visually iconic) cityscape in the new lineup would you cut? I think the three big ones they picked kind of have to be there, too.

And I wouldn't have wanted them to go any city-heavier than they already did (because this is in The Land, after all, and should be more a celebration of the natural beauty of the country).

For what it's worth, Chicago has it's own dedicated film at the FlyOver in Las Vegas (and probably other locations as well)... and it's honestly spectacular! I've paid for it twice, and my husband, who went in pretty cynical, was also amazed at it. He said he would pay to do it again as well. It was honestly the best "flying attraction" experience I've ever had. Not only are the movements impressive, but the films gives the illusion it was all done in one single take--I still don't know how they did it, because there are no obvious edit points.

I haven't seen any of their other films except Wonders of American West, which was okay... I would NOT pay to see that one again. But Chicago? Absolutely.

You’re good!! I think Philly has enough landmarks that would’ve fit in an impactful way visually for a minor fly-by. If it was any other overlay and wasn’t marketed as Disney’s way to celebrate the semiquincentennial I wouldn’t care, but, if you’re including 1 celebration hub and ignoring the other, imo, it’s a weird look cause whether loved or hated, there’s no America to soar over without Philly!

I do like the idea of each theme park's version of Soarin' having its own, unique final tag, but I would have been fine with this, sure.
