see this is where I think you're wrong. People love the Haunted mansion, Pirates, Small World, etc. In fact I think it's nostalgia that fuels a lot of enjoyment. We are a family that can just afford to go once or maybe twice a year, mainly because we live close, and have the ability to stay with family near the parks. My daughter (5) would be excited to ride a new state of the art attraction, but she is also just as excited to ride the old rides. My wife, actually prefers the old attractions. She's not really into "screens", she would prefer roller coasters any day of the week, and she still mentions her disappointment that the "penny arcade" is no longer on mainstreet. To her, she'd be happy if the parks never changed.
I agree that UOR is adding much needed competition, and adding really awesome rides and themed experiences, but that doesn't stop either of them from wanting to still go to Magic Kingdom or Disney Based on attendance levels, I don't think they are alone. In fact, I'd say they are the majority.
For every family that decided to go to UOR, there are another 10 (if not more) that are anxiously awaiting their next trip to ride Dumbo again.
