No no no you need the attractions to stay at a hotel.....if there are no new draws then the hotels will either be empty or barley making profits

i implore you to actually think about how someone other than yourself visits the park and the surrounding area. literally walk into one of the hotels on the hill on a weekend sometime. they are somehow, someway, doing just fine!

Part of me thinks all three things for DCA might be ready by LA2028. I know that might seem far fetched, but Avatar is only taking up just a portion of the backlot sparing the sunset showcase theater. Based on the concept art it looks like the old Hollywood and dine structure is being repurposed for some sort of eatery. The most substantial new thing will be the showbuilding for the E ticket boat ride.

HHN shows that the park needs more to do not hotels...people will come when you give them a reason hotels or not. The hotels would be cool for guests but USH is mostly a local park which is why right now if you go a day when its not HHN the parks are empty....Grinchmas brings in locals and then we get to the slow season because for whatever reason they refuse to do Lunar News Years. I mean its not that hard use the plaza and bring in shows, make a food pass and if Panda ever leaves bring it back as a seasonal attraction making its demand go up

But USH needs more things if they just stop after the coaster....good luck because Disney is going to each your lunch

People do other things besides visiting the park when they stay at the Hilton and Sheraton that are currently on property. Universal wants a cut of that. It’s not all about staying on property for multiple days at the park.

I'm with you. A number of us have said it in past discussions over the years, too, but Hollywood's own version of Dark Universe would just feel... right. Hell, if they don't want to clone Monsters Unchained or Gringotts to keep Orlando "unique," merge the two concepts together into a wholly different monsters-themed ride to anchor the land. But either way, the success of the land at EU has hopefully shown Universal that if there's an appetite for it in Orlando, then there's absolutely one for it in Hollywood.

I always said the best way to kill two birds with one stone is Gringotts + Universal Monsters for USH.

For now....I think you guys are not looking at the numbers right now travel is down

We don't need more rooms we need things to do

That is what brings people in...the hotel will make money for sure but we need two? right now with this inflation and people not wanting to visit the US anytime soon?

Once again Disneyland is the top dog, you follow there lead they are building all these attraction and USH plan is hotels....

People here might crap on Disney but they are on top for a reason they have event year round and keep building new things.

HHN is a sold out event and guess what was not needed? Hotels because you don't need to stay at USH its super easy to even get from burbank to USH like within 15 mins at max in the morning

USH needs more things, we need another show area for event like HHN and Fan fest so they can grow and hold more people.....then in 10 years get more hotels but the park needs more sooner then later every year we don't see another new ride or land is millions off the table

Really? I might even stay at a hotel for horror nights this year if it’s reasonable cuz getting to USH from Torrance is a total pain depending when you leave. Not everyone is coming from where you stay at, and not everyone is staying at the hotel solely for the park. They also have been adding to the park consistently over the last decade, and they are planning on adding even more. I think you need to take a step back and see the bigger picture.

Also, it's a bit "scary" for the GP. Something I think USH is trying to stray from. Epic can get away with having a more frightening land at their park because they have all the space in the world to work with. USH doesn't. They need to choose what they commit what remaining space they have left very carefully.

You mentioned you haven't seen Monsters Unchained, but just for context, it really isn't all that scary. It's pretty comparable in tone to Revenge of The Mummy. Forbidden Journey is a lot more "frightening" all things considered.

Different park, Orlando, but the reason I stay at an onsite hotel is I get to enjoy the ''totality' of the resort, parks, Citywalk, hotel restaurants bars,
in a leisurely no traveling to and from atmosphere. If UOR didn't have on site hotels I probably wouldn't visit Universal much. But since I love
that everything in walking distance leisurely experience, I spend long vacations at UOR. On site hotels are important and Universal gets way more
money from a onsite hotel guest than one who arrives as a day guest.

It’s going to be too expensive lol. I always say this about visiting Disneyland as I live far but I can’t justify the price. Even the hotels across the street are too much.

Plus with Disneyland, they had magic hour included with the hotels. They HAD perks along with the hotel room. I know people are using the hotel rooms at HHN to get express passes. And they don’t even stay in the room.
