How do they possibly expect to get tourists to pay 300+ a night for USH, a single one-day park? This seems so poorly thought out. They should've built this in like, a decade after either opening a second gate or three or so more lands. USH is my home and personal favorite park, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is Euro Disney levels of empty.

The extra advantage for tourists getting a hotel at USH would not only be access to the park, but also be fairly central to lots of other LA tourist attractions with the metro just a short distance away. You could go from USH, to Chinese Theater, Hollywood & Vine, and DTLA without even needing a car.

Not to mention all the business events that could happen there. Plus, USH could do their own version of the Disney Magic Music Days, and invite groups from all over the stay and perform at the park. That alone would bring in considerable business, should they decide to go that route.

All the people filling up Disneyland high end hotels disagree with you. In fact, I believe I saw a recent report that stays at high end hotels is actually going up. It's the lower end hotels that are suffering. So there's a lot of evidence that, in fact, people will pay that much.

I mean, also look at all the people who are getting the RIP and VIP experiences. There's currently no shortage of high paying guests.

If we had more land, and they were building a new land to go with the hotel. I'd had zero issues with it

My issues are
1) This is for people can can afford 300+ dollar a nights hotel which is not the majority of Americas or the world
2) We have limited space meaning using all this space limits where the theme park can go
3) I think USH needs a new into land, one with a sit down restaurant and VIP dinning location (this would also allow a small theater experience on french street)
4) This hotel is taking up funds/time that will limit how much investment the park gets until its complete

If this was the H lot, honestly I'd have not as much to say, the space makes sense for a hotel and space could work for theme park space but its not as good as the front area where we could add a new opening area and new land

Honestly, people can PM if they want to talk about it but know people are tried of my points but people keep quoting me and asking why, so I am answering

You are in over your head. I don't know how to continue this conversation with you.

You do realize a lot of people save up for a vacation right? That’s why $300 plus a night isn’t that big of a deal. When I was rigging at the Universal Hilton for St Denis Medical a couple of months ago, it was packed. They also had a pickup spot for those sightseeing tours there, and is also located conveniently next to a metro station. So people aren’t only staying there for Universal… they are staying there to be kind of centrally located to a lot of heavy tourism spots in Los Angeles. It’s also a safe place for families to stay since it’s part of the Universal property, and not located on a street in Hollywood or Downtown LA. Universal wants a piece of that, the demand is there, and it will serve a purpose. Idk what we’re doing here.

a theme park land outside of the theme park entrance doesn’t make sense! This hotel is going on the front gate parking area. If anything H lot has more of a chance of becoming a theme park land then a freaking parking lot outside the park!! Why can’t you seem to comprehend this!

lol

I mean its cool, I want more theme park lands and rides and you guys want new security hubs and a hotel

We just have different ideas of what a theme park is, I want more then 15 attractions at USH and many people here don't care.

USH lost 10% of guests for not adding a new attraction last year, so if they think not adding another E ticket for 3+ years after the coaster will help the park cool I disagree but what can you do.

If the hotel was slowing down how many people were coming to the park this HHN would be a fail but its not, all extras are sold out. The Merch went on sale the latest we have ever seen in modern times to me it shows if you build it they will come. Comcast literally shouted out SNW after it opened as why the parks were doing well that year, to wait 5-10 years to add another land that will bring in that kind of money/attendance to me feels like a mistake and while Florida gets a brand new park and might even get a new land before USH

I don’t know how to get through to you but nearly everyone on this thread said they want new lands and attractions as well as a hotel. You seem to think it’s either or but it’s not. You mention HHN extras sold out , well you know how many people travel here for HHN and would stay at the hotel afterward if it exists? A ton! Which means more money for the park and more new attractions but if you can’t understand that then I give up lol.

Anyway guys who’s excited for that Canes to open? What are some fun hypothetical and not controversial concepts for future USH additions? Wouldn’t it be so cool if we got some kind of Godzilla VS Kongfrontation? Maybe with the supposed plussing of the Tour, something like that isn’t completely out of the question anymore.

If I were large and in charge of the Studio Tour, this is what I would do:

Relocate the Studio Tour downstairs. Build a two-story queue to consolidate space. The entire queue would basically be a large museum devoted to props, costumes, and sets from various Universal films. Some would be more interactive. Think the queue for Runaway Railway at DL but with actual props. This is the park’s thesis attraction, so give it a flashy queue to show that!

No more 3D on the tram. Adios. No more. Tear down Kong 360 and flatten that building. Restore the collapsing bridge. As for Kong I’ll address that shortly.

The tilting dock effect on Jaws would be brought back. I know they filled that gap in with concrete but if there’s a will there’s a way lol

Supercharged would be replaced with BTTF. If you read the Florida thread you can read my vision for that attraction. It’s essentially a Supercharged overlay but a stronger emphasis on practical effects. No 3D as the screens would be Bourne Stuntacular-quality.

As for Kong, I would put a brand new Skull Island attraction in the lake. The problem with Kong Vs Godzilla is that Godzilla is so massive, you would either have to shrink him down significantly to make him work as an AA or he would just be a screen, which is the last thing this tram needs. I would basically just keep it in Skull Island but with no screens. That way you can have some native AAs as well as AA creatures. The finale would just be a massive Kong AA messing with you on a bridge.

I really don’t think the Tram needs a ton of retooling. Just replace the 3D stuff with more practical attractions and bring back the collapsing bridge.

Bro. Like, I'm sorry, but enough has to be enough at some point, right? This is genuinely the definition of insanity.

How many times have people done this dance with you? How many times do you make a claim like this and everyone points out to you that's not true? How many times do you have to come in and act like you're the only one who cares about the parks, everyone proves you're not, and then you just... vanish from the conversation, never engaging with all the people who disprove your point, only to return a few days later once it's moved on just to start this all over again?

How many times do you need people telling you "We ALL want new rides and lands alongside a hotel!" for you to finally stop with the "many people here don't care," and "I want this, but you guys don't" rhetoric, over and over and over and over and over and over again? Stop ignoring when people respond to you in a way that counterpoints your claims just because you want to keep your head in the sand that you and you alone care about the park and know what's best.

What sucks is I know you're either a.) going to vanish rather than acknowledge this, as is the pattern, or b.) do the "lol, well..." response where your comment proceeds to ignore the substance of what I have (or anyone else has) written, but come on, man. The fact we now have running jokes about the frequency of this happening should tell you something, but we all would've hoped the fact we've explained this very thing to you a million times over to date would've succeeded in that already. I know I'm not alone in saying it really sucks to see a notification in a given thread only to come to it and -- surprise, surprise -- it's this circular thing in some form, yet again.
