No meaningful deaths, and while there is the appearance of stakes, in reality there are none. Duffer Bros fell so in love with their characters and became so scared of angering or upsetting fans that they never entertained for a single second the possibility that any of the core crew could actually bite it. I appreciate they followed through with the cave and with Henry’s failed redemption arc. LOVED the return of the Mind Flayer, even if his screen-time was a little too short for my tastes. Also thought that the wrap up was cute. That said, this season had zero story, piss-poor writing, no forward momentum, a good deal of bloat/dead or empty air, and wasn’t as satisfying or as cool as it should have been.
