I wanted to venture up to the park for the demise of Supercharged, but I'm just not that motivated. Just happy to see it ....gone (with the wind)

I've always said BTTF would be a great replacement, but I'd also be content with the practical effect vortex tunnel returning lol

Also why do Twisters when they can just do Sharknado

Went to the park (at 6:01 p.m.!) last night for a few hours -- did the Tour. Aside from the fact I still can't wrap my head around the fact this opened almost a decade ago, it was interesting seeing my entire tram cheering and whooping and clapping during this; even when the tour guide announced that we were some of the last people to ever get to experience it, a number of people expressed disappointment that it was closing. So even if it flopped amongst those of us diehards, it still works for a number of people whose bars aren't set higher than "average."

Is this really surprising to anyone? I said it already but the hatred for this attraction was pretty much confined to this website and maybe one or two other social media communities that have crossover with this website. I also fully believe the L.A. hate was just a game of Simon Says with Orlando. Supercharged was never elite but it was also never, ever as awful as people since the closing announcement have been claiming.

Maaaaaaybe pump these breaks a little here. USH is still a re-skin park at heart. Predicting a quick and easy BTTF overlay as a chaser to the Hollywood Drift shot.

It's pretty awful as an isolated attraction though. The vitriol, if you could call it that, is really do to the laziness of the Orlando attraction and its context as the last major E-ticket addition to that park.

I don’t think the lowest GSATs scores for both parks has anything to do with this website… lol

It's been a long way, since 2010.
When King Kong opened, we were glad to see our old friend.
Fast and Furious came, and from there our joy ends
But in 2025, the evil blight will descend.

OH (UH), OH, OH, OH (UH) OH, OOO, OOO, OOO.
OOOWHOOWHOWOOHOOHOOUOOOO
And the evil descends!

EDIT: Coot, your Catholicism is showing.

As someone who was a fan of the franchise, Supercharged & F8 are what killed the franchise for me. Also the ending of Furious 7 setting up more films.

F8 literally gave off strong Supercharged vibes with the excessive CGI & unrealistic stunts. Glad I went to an early FREE fan screening of it. Never saw F9 & don't plan to. This ride was a terrible representation of the first 7 films, but it fits the post-paul walker films.

Tokyo Drift is still my favorite of the franchise. So the new coaster has me hyped, even if it's Hollywood instead of Tokyo.

I'm not debating whether or not it's awful; I don't have any strong feelings about this attraction one way or the other.

I'm saying -- yes, the Orlando attraction is lame, but what does that have to do with the L.A. version? You're kind of echoing my point. The vitriol for L.A.'s version is just runoff from how much people hate the Orlando one. Nobody has posted in this thread for nearly 10 years, until this announcement was made. If people truly hated it this entire time, I think we would have seen more "vitriolic" posts here, no? You could say "well people weren't posting because they hated it," but given how much people post about hating the Orlando version, you'd think we woulda seen the same thing here.

It's a total case of monkey see, monkey do, and I just found it funny. That's all.

Not dying on any hills lol, I'm very much alive and on level ground here. I think people are reading this as me defending Supercharged and I'm not.

Cuz to be honest, I actually don't see a mountain of evidence in front me that disproves anything I'm saying. It's not like GSATs are things we can all access and independently verify. I'll take your word for it but you also just seem to have beef with what I'm saying in general, so idk.

Here's what I know: people hate the Orlando ride. I feel pretty strongly that that sentiment just kinda cross-pollinated the overall opinion, given how dead this space was for nearly a decade, and I thought it was funny. That's all.

Considering we had Supercharged before Orlando, I can assure you that I've hated this attraction since day 1 long before Orlando violated Earthquake with this Disaster.

I feel dirty that I was excited for it back in 2014 when it was announced.

The reason most haven't posted in here since it opened is because there wasn't anything significant to post about. Except for the minimal Tram/story video reductions here/there.

No beef. I’m just being brief since I’m on mobile at the parks ATM. Nevertheless, it’s a weird point. I mean, look at early reviews here, and then reviews before Orlando’s version opened. Thierry Coup is even on record acknowledging it was a mistake.

To add - I don’t think a thread’s activity should point in any direction of proof. We can agree the Orlando’s version is bad and it’s just as quiet. VelociCoaster’s thread is quiet, too.
