I still don’t understand why they’re doing it like this.

Oh well.

Assuming this replacement will be Pokemon, I have a strong feeling the headliner ride will be an interactive ride. Why? Because Islands is the only park out of the three that doesn’t have an interactive ride.

Feels like there's so much potential and the ideas are endless for a Pokemon land. It's a great point that IoA doesn't have an interactive ride. I know a lot of people on here have mentioned a Pokemon Snap style interactive ride, it would bring IoA some things that it needs.

An indoor ride
A great dark ride for all ages

As others have mentioned, the merch will be insane. My 5 year old is vaguely aware of Pokemon, but loves the cards and action figures. When we walk into Pokemon Land in 2032 (or whenever), I just know I'm going to be shelling out an insane amount of money for Pokedexes, different types of Pokeballs, etc.

I’m a little surprised that the (if it is going into IOA) the Pokémon experience at UOR will be markedly different than the one in USJ. The ride over there going in their “New York” area and even if they knock down that whole area the footprint is going to be massively different.

Also it seems to be much harder for all UOR parks to have Nintendo since I don’t see the long-rumored and in-development Zelda area going into the Studios Park…

Very interesting to me.

VERY interesting, would we get the city like theming from USJ too or something else?

I get sense it’ll be more jungle or forrest vibes, a little modern looking city would feel out of place IMO. Especially if we get a safari ride, the setting wouldn’t be a city.

Yeah I could see the ride maybe being the same depending on how they spin it, but the land itself is definitely going to be different (unless the one in IOA is actually a really big cityscape, which would surprise me).

Have we seen a high-effort IP land like this get a radically different design from park to park before? I feel like it's always been adaptations of the same general vibe, if not as close to a clone as possible. Hogsmeade, SWGE, SNW.

Obvious exception is Hogsmeade/Diagon/Paris in UOR, but that feels like the result of being within the same resort, not between world-wide park locations.

I guess they'll be building a new JP land in UGB soon. So, it's possible.

I'm assuming that Japan's Pokemon ride is just going to be "Spider-Man with Pokemon," so at minimum, I hope whatever E-ticket ride comes to Orlando is completely different. Especially if it's going into IOA.

And I think it's already been strongly hinted that it will be?

Kind of a Transformers situation, maybe. The ride itself is identical across all its iterations once you get through the facade - Hollywood, Orlando, Singapore, Beijing - but the surrounding areas are all very different. Some were incorporated into existing zones, while the Asian versions arguably benefitted from ground-up placemaking.

I know I've been (perhaps annoyingly) negative on UDX as of recent, but ... I really don't believe I need to justify how totally defeated I would feel to finally recieve a Pokemon E-Ticket ride, and for it to be a third (or fourth??) version of Spider-Man at UOR, 30+ years after the original, and built inside the literal same park.

I *really* don’t think the rides are the same.
