Thanks for explaining this. I actually feel a little more optimistic about this. Like I said, I haven't played Pokemon. I did watch the movie but that's the limit of my exposure.

The movie (for as good as it is) doesn’t do a good job of capturing the feel of the mainline games. It’s largely a more laid-back, “that looks interesting, what’s over here” feeling. And Ryme City is way more urban and populated than what you normally experience as you’re playing.

That said, I feel like any Pokemon land has to be Kanto region-focused.

The movies are niche niche and not the best entry point. I actually recommend the TV anime more and Pokemon Concierge on Netflix, a stop motion animated series of shorts.

I know it would be practically duplicate rides, but a High in the Sky Trolly X Pokemon Snap around the area would be absolutely perfect for any pokemon area. It doesn't take much room to do and would be tons of fun.

I worked on a edutainment game for the Orlando Science Center back when I as in college and we were building something that would make the real world Central FL forest area be able to be explored like Pokemon Snap where kids would get those poloroid type stickers that were popular back in the day of some of their favorite pictures.

I think for Pokemon, they could have a replica of a gym, The PokeCenter, PokeMart, maybe Tower from Lavender Town in the distance.
Maybe just have the town look like all of the Kanto cities, with a little reference here and there.
The Silph Co building from Saffron, St. Anne or docks from Vermillion, mine/ Mt. Moon from Pewter, etc. or just have it be Pallet Town

This land is going to be insane. If it's as popular as what many of us expect it to be, I wonder if anyone as Universal Creative starts floating the idea of it taking the Portal expansion between Stardust and WWoHP at EU. It seems like the smart money is on having Pokemon and Nintendo at each campus, in some capacity or another. They're too big to not expand them

I would temper your expectations. I don't see Pokemon going into all three parks.

Agreed, as much as I'm excited for Pokemon to come to IOA, I'm not expecting it to show up in each park. After all Epic Universe only has so many expansion plots, and it feels like they've already got a good idea what's going in a good chunk of them.

The facades on the theater have been literally crumbling for a few years at least, so this needed to be behind walls and demolished well before now. Excited to finally see some real movement on this land.

Time for bulldozers to put it of its misery.

I will certainly miss seeing the iconic theming its way past its expiration date.

Agreed. It's a little hard to watch because I loved that area but Adding some rides in that area should be an improvement. Park space is worth too much to sit unused or underdeveloped, regardless if you have the "blessing of size".

The replacement wait has been way too long. No Pokemon fan, but anything is better than nothing. But, I'm sure Pokemon will be a big success and an attendance boost. Just hope it has a setting that's in the vein of a LC or Zelda land look.
