Kinda surprised Beijing hasn't moved on building it... and wondering if they're going for their own Fast and Furious coaster instead, to build a new coaster for much less (theming) money.

I feel like if Universal ever does clone Hagrid's, I feel like they could make a lot of operational improvements with the hindsight of Orlando's issues. Building a larger queue and using a dual-load station would help for a start.

They’ve had a lot more Covid restrictions stay for long since they opened, I wonder if all expansion was just pushed back a year or two. I still think they get both ultimately in Beijing.

The issue isn't loading, it's all of the moving parts, switch tracks, having to maintain all of those trains, etc.

I think the drop track is pretty essential to Hagrid's, but you could probably lose the stall + switch track if you had to get rid of something. And maybe with dual load you don't need to have the two drop tracks merge into one track at the end.

I had mentioned it on the Islands thread but they could easily make the fall into devil's snare with a slow and steep backwards roll. Then, the track switches in front of you and get launched out of the building. No need for the troublesome drop track at that point. I understand why the drop is there and it is unique but it has been plagued with problems. Better to find an easier way to make the coaster more reliable.

Yes, they could remove the drop track, half the launches and the spike, but it wouldn't be Hagrid's. These things came together to make a world class attraction. In my opinion, creative successfully reinveted what it means to have a themed, story coaster, and it's all thanks to these elements.

In theory, Universal will close the attraction in January. It is known in the park that Universal has already purchased the park. It is a matter of time that is been announced. It probably will happen before the end of the year as they are preparing the ground with news about the sale.

Boulva's hiring has also been leaked. He works at Disneyland Paris. Before that leak, a Disneyland Paris insider from OutsidEarsDLP confirmed that Universal is hiring park staff. They are now officially making references like that Harry Potter one as well.

As it was leaked by Port Aventura and Disneyland Paris insiders a month and a half ago and we shared here, Port Aventura confirmed today the addition of Frèdèric Boulva as the new director of operations.

It could always happen. Seems like the park is up for sale, and Comcast certainly has deep enough pockets to buy it. Just waiting for that announcement.
