Forgive me if I'm wrong about this, but wasn't the prodding by this thread what lead to us discovering Universal's domain purchases in Britain to begin with?

Yup and resulted in @Tomfoolery dropping the news.

I think it accelerated the news coming out but it was already known.

Couldn't it be possible that Port Aventura knew about these London plans being a possibility and then hired some people from Disney among other things to make themselves more attractive for Comcast to buy. It seems like one of those situations where no one is going to give them the money they want unless Comcast is at least seriously in the running.

That’s definitely been brought up in the thread before. That’s my thinking as well. I have wondered if there is some professional courtesy/potential business benefit between partners.

Yep, at the same time on a spanish telegram community they have shared that Page Thompson was seen at PortAventura on the 16 and 17 of this month, they shared a picture of him with the park director but they removed it and also have the option to save pictures disabled, so I couldn't save a copy, but can confirm that I saw it and was him

The picture mentioned back then, I knew it wasn't a figment of my imagination

I am being tagged in this a lot on social media.

This is from mid November right?

So not new? Funny the timing of posting it now.

They did share in the past that different Comcast executives, including Thompson, were visiting the park, but it was disregarded, and you sharing the video about the UK news burned them basically. Just like that DLP insider, that has gained the trust of the french community, when she said that certain executives from DLP were being scouted by Universal as part of a plan related with PortAventura, and now the former Disneyland Paris operations director is about to become the COO of PortAventura.

It’s not like they need some domains o land to acquire, if this were true, we would only see the Comcast name on an official announcement from them. But it does feel like you’re cuestioning the credibility of some trusted european insiders, by considering their scoops second-class or something, because, in the end, you’re a trusted voice in the Universal parks community.

And I mean this in the most respectful way possible, I don’t mean to attack anyone, and I have no play in all this, but I’ve been watching both sides and I think that ignoring this won’t help at all.

Here is a quote of me not dismissing the meeting.

I dont think this was the first walk through of the park recently either. Which had let me to wonder if Universal was kicking the tires and seeing what their options were.

I just mean, we DID talk about this meeting in November. It wasn't the first time there was a meeting. We agreed it happened. A new pic now from back then doesn't prove anything new. But neat to see nonetheless.

I'm getting real tired of reading this thread. How many times are we going to equate expressing healthy skepticism about the implications of meetings and new job titles with "dismissing an entire continent of respected insiders" that "deserve to be heard". If I may perform my own paranoid, unkind reading of some of the posts in this thread, Alicia being randomly tagged in old photos of a meeting from months ago, the sullen and petty tone of some of the posts in this thread, and the consistent claim that she has "ignored" or "dismissed" the PortAventura/European community, strike me less as someone passionately presenting an argument and more like someone refusing to take the L when their desired outcome didn't pan out, or has yet to pan out with the fervor and speed they expected.

Different tweets, this one is adding that more Universal executives stayed at the resort at later dates, and is by a different account

I’m not here to defend anyone, nor to try to convince you about anything, what I was saying is that that’s how it feels there.

The reality is that something is happening in Europe, Universal has shared that there’s a chance they might build a park in the UK, or they might not, and at the same time, Comcast executives keep visiting PAW for whatever reason. That’s not a L for anyone here, something is in the oven, and if it turns out well, we’ll all win.

To be blunt. I released a story because I had legal documents showing that land in England was acquired by the Comcast Corporation.

If and when I see documents showing a contract or agreement between Comcast and PortAventura, you better believe I would be making the same sort of exposé on this story.

I just have not seen it YET. Maybe someday.

I am not being dismissive, I am being thorough. I invite every little sign of this happening though, as when and if I do make that video, I will be including it all as evidence that led to the final outcome. It's part of the journey, but it's not enough to go on yet.

I understand the passion of the Euro crowd wanting Universal at PA, and turning it from a second rate park into a first rate park, BUT it continues to sound like it's grasping at straws and reading way too much into minor happenstance events that don't necessarily mean what the hopes fantasize. .

I'd circle back to pages 22 and 23 for everyone's takes on that. By no means did anyone doubt the tour happened when it was initially reported and takes were given back then on what it could mean. Whether it leads to something, time shall tell.

Really feels like this thread just keeps going in circles. We just did this "no one is denying the executives visited" song and dance several weeks ago as pointed out by Alicia and the above quote. We don't have to keep spinning this wheel.

One park has a literal statement released by Universal at this point, the other has had a tour from executives. Naturally, one has more fuel behind it because of the mountain of evidence. It is what it is. It's a wait and see situation. Getting mad at people for being skeptical and presenting questions until more information/rumors come out isn't going to sway anyone. It's just dismissing logical discussion at this point.

"It feels like Alicia is questioning the credibility of European insiders and considers their scoops second class", to paraphrase your words.

But you're not trying to convince anyone (?), you're just "presenting an idea."

And it's not a claim about a person, just an ambient feeling.

Sorry, but miss me with that bs.

Until this PA stuff, I can't ever recall a Euro land continent based so called Universal Insider posting on this site. Only the very reliable UK insiders posted. Who are these guys we never heard from before? And what Universal insider info did they ever release that would give them insider reputations? For all intents and purposes, IU is the only reliable insider info site for Universal NEWS AND RUMORS.

This was my next question. Not denying they exist, genuinely asking. I don't follow European theme park rumors for the most part, so I'm out of the loop other than what has been posted here.

This thread has previously brought up @aalllllyyyyyy as "the biggest leaker and information hole of Disney in Europe with a near perfect reputation", but Ally isn't backing this horse as a definite thing. He's been stating the same rumor points we've been discussing in this exact thread without ever saying they think it's definitive.

Just yesterday someone tweeted their disappointment to Ally about the GB news and Ally's response was basically what we've all been saying: There's smoke, but who knows if there's fire.

"That doesn't mean it's necessarily dead on the other side. There have been domain name registrations on both sides. Both projects appear to be seriously studied."

Another insider associated with Ally, @TMainStreetNews, just responded about the Spain potential an hour ago with:

"It’s quite hard to say at the moment. So far, the information I have received still indicates that’s the case, but we’ll have to wait and see"

I'm failing to see any European insiders 1) claiming this is a done deal, 2) expressing displeasure at the fact that insiders on here won't confirm the report yet, and 3) feeling like insiders here are attempting to discredit them. Hell, Ally's most recent tweet is a retweet from Alicia about the GB land. Doesn't seem like bad blood to me. It feels more like fans creating fictitious drama while the insiders appropriately assess & question rumors and post what they can, when they can.
