Found this report about how rough the Hulk was to this on person:

From Theme Park Insider:

Incredible Hulk Coaster at Universal's Islands of Adventure
March 26, 2010
I rode The Hulk ride and while riding my head banged against the protective harness sideways vigorously multiple times. This happened twice during the ride. When I came off the ride I became dizzy and a little disoriented. I was left with a bad headache that have lasted for about 6 hours now. Thank you -- Reported on March 26, 2010 by Ermoni Smith

Thing is that Theme Park Insider calls it a unverified injury unless another member confirms it. If it was me, I would confirm it. Thoughts?

Leave your head out in front of the harness a bit = no head banging. I corrected the problem and universal will not have to do any refurb work!

JK, please refurb this coaster =/

I have never experienced anything nearly that bad on this coaster. A 1-2 hour headache maybe, but that's ok. I would not back up that claim.

Latveria, I find it better to keep my head back firm against the headrest, like they say. I get almost no banging. If I lean forward it just puts my head right in between the shoulder restraint.

Hulk is not Pirates of the Caribbean. Hold on tight and go stiff and laugh and scream. Don't just sit there like you're on a carriage ride through central park. This headache junk is... junk. It is a world class steel MEGA ROLLER COASTER designed to toss your bod about in evil unnatural ways. Did everyone on the ride with you leave the park with a two hour headache? I doubt it. They held tight, kept theirs bods tight and screamed.

I think most of you that are complaining are incessant riders that begin to sit there like rag dolls as you are not scared any longer and do not hold tight. Don't mess with or underestimate a mega ride. When you feel the most G's on Mission Space, and turn your head to the side; you will be ruined for at least an hour if not the rest of the day.

So, always ride Hulk or any steel coaster as if it was your first time. Hold tight, keep your bod tight, you will love it and/or be terrified. But you won't find it rough as that will be the least of your worries.

Does hulk need to be repainted, yeppers. Is it rough? How many times have you that claim it is rough ridden the Hulk? Do we need to launch you on the space shuttle next just to get a really rough ride? It is only 4-6Gs as I understand it.

Wow, I have such an attitude and opinion....

Personally I don't think there's a doubt in the world that Hulk has gotten headache-inducing rough. Every time I ride anymore, I do indeed walk away with a headache and remind myself why I don't like riding anymore. And I don't believe I'm relaxing in the least -- in fact, I'm clenched tighter than ever just trying to reduce the roughness.

You're right, though. Stunt plane pilots control the effect of G-forces by tighening their entire bodies, thereby resticting bloodflow. It works. Otherwise, they'd black out every time. On coasters I just sit still and enjoy the view, although I rarely scream.

I disagree, the last... horrible... time I rode Hulk, after knowing of the roughness it had, I tried basically what you said, (tightened shoulder harness, held on tighter, etc...) but that ended up being unbelievably horrible ride. I had a headache for 3.5 hours. Besides, when on SheiKra, Kraken, and Kumba, I always leave my harness on really loose, to the point where I feel like a rag doll (awesome air-time) with my hands up, and I never feel any roughness from them.

I shall defer to you all as I have not ridden for two years. HOWEVER... seeing rust on a track and riding a coaster is like handing a blind man orange juice and telling him it is a glass of tomato juice. For a second, it will taste like orange juice. The power of perception is incredibly strong.

I haven't experienced Hulk's roughness as of my trip in January (though my Dad did notice some roughness in the second half), but I think I'm going in the end of July to see how it is.

P.S.: Is our green Hulk green yet? Um... no.

BTW... how much do you think it costs to repaint the Hulk? If you are educated in the biz of painting, please state so, if not just give your best guess. Be ready to choke on your own spit!

Not educated in painting but taking a wild guess. From sandblasting to final coat I am guessing between 250-300K. I am probably way off but just a guess.

Rode the ride today. IT'S NOT ROUGH. Sorry to be harsh, but you guys either don't know how to ride a roller coaster correctly, or you you get very unlucky very often.

And I have pics I'll post tomorrow, er, later today. I think they might show something.
