Are we sure a Krabby Patty is made with beef? I know I saw an episode where it was hot dog shaped. I know it makes no sense that a squirrel lives under water, but at least she wears SCUBA gear. I guess my point is, where do they get beef from? The ingredients are a secret after all and I have never heard it called a burger, just a patty.

Anyway, if they can't have a drink for Transformers due to The Flaming Moe, would they be permitted to have a burger to compete with a Krusty Burger?

Guys, I think if the Krusty Krab was coming, it would have come alongside StorePants.

It's time to drop it. You're biased in your argument because you are the generation that Spongebob is aimed at. Izzy's whole point can't be understood if you aren't willing to look at this "debate" or whatever's going on from different eyes.

Let me put it this way. If you've never seen the show "Friends", you're not going to know what The Central Perk is...it's too broad a name. So the addition of a venue called The Central Perk shuts out any group of people who aren't familiar with Friends (which, considering how many international visitors Universal gets, is probably quite a bit).

Meanwhile, if you've never seen the show "Breaking Bad", but Universal added a restaurant called El Pollos Hermanos, most people would still know chicken is sold there independent of any knowledge they have of the IP it's derived from. Therefore, something like this would be the stronger venue to put in the park.

Krusty Krab is the former example...except it's even worse because the name is misleading (Central Perk could mean anything, but Krusty Krab would seem to specifically refer to seafood to those not in the know). At the end of the day, parents are the ones booking the trips, paying for them, deciding where to eat, etc...while the Krusty Krab would be a fun place for fans of the show, the older people who don't watch it and who Universal cares about (the ones with the money) are what matter.

I'll drop it and I understand her point the food isn't in the name so it might confuse theme park tourists. It's just a obvious restaurant to make in a kids area that's all. But back on topic what are we looking at when it comes to curious George? He's getting a new movie soon with illumination so could he get another area or ride?

I've watched spongebob. Including episodes that featured the krabby patty. And I still thought it was seafood.

I am in the same boat. And now that I know it is not seafood, I still think it's seafood

Butterbeer sounds like an extra sweet cream soda.

The only funny part about all this DC stuff is that if DC ever does come to Uni I could see a collective falling off of their chairs from many members on here when they see the post/twitter about it

LOL - I had to recently tell my daughter that story (well I left out the him getting eaten part) because she kept screaming bad dream so she could crawl into our bed. It worked, it shocked me that it worked and she sometimes talks about the story.

One thought about Spongebob's store. Universal doesn't seem to do one-off things anymore. The Simpsons Ride became Springfield. Despicable Me has a land in Hollywood. Shrek has one in Singapore. Etc, etc. Yet, the SpongeBob store is a one-off for an incredibly popular franchise.

It was built in 2012, right after Despicable Me opened. Does anybody think that maybe Universal had plans to expand Spongebob into KidZone a la Simpsons (build one thing, then expand the land). Does anybody think that this brand new store may now be headed for the chopping block since they aren't planning on expanding Nickelodeon?

Great point but I think the store will stay, it's in front of ET away from the demolition and it brings in the bucks along with a great meet and greet station

I can't see SpongeBob StorePants staying that long if Universal plans to go a non-Nick route. It's going to stick out like a sore-thumb next to just E.T. and Animal Actors (already does TBH).

That whole front area of kidzone doesn't fit well at all now that I think about it. Animals, sponges and aliens. Goes as well together as blueberries and mustard. But yeah you got a point there too, wouldn't see a reason to keep storepants if they didn't make bikini bottom stuff anyways. But I was thinking about this today. Nick owns TMNT....

The Store could have been just a test of popularity/a tie in with the new parade
