It's almost disrespectful? Trust your audience. Don't dumb it down for them. And in that case, what's his excuse for using Crimson Peak so far ahead of its release date? That was such a heavily story reliant maze and while it was visually stunning, he didn't little to nothing to even try to tell the story. And then it flopped. Because people didn't know wtf they were supposed to expect. (Having seen the movie before getting to experience it, I freaking loved it. But it's one of my favorite movies so I was looking for all the little details. So I can see why people didn't like it, especially if they hadn't seen it beforehand.) I love him, but he's lazy as hell to the point where I'm more excited about trying to go to Orlando this year than I am here. Especially knowing my expectations for this year are very high for Hollywood and they probably won't be met.

Hmm, interesting.

BTW, my take on the Helicopter is more this..Its one of those things that i'd have to see in-person. Not to say, I may not like it. but to me; it'll depend on how it'll be executed for me.

I think the official opening could even be before the 4th of July. This project has been in the works for quite some time now, so it might be possible that the attraction will officially open as soon as next month to catch those early summer crowds. It doesn't appear that there's much left to do on the outside once they finish all the interior work.

At first I was a little disappointed to hear a new maze type attraction was coming, however, as the days go on I get more excited for this attraction.

Ryan has shared an update on The Walking Dead attraction façade. Note the new frame in front of that pathway between the two buildings. New marquee?

Also notice how the older facade on the right is getting attention.  Roof shingles and some signage has been stripped off.  Maintenance or will this refresh be tied in with the new attraction?

An update from Jon. Like JPLA mentioned, a lot of work is happening on that smaller façade. It will likely tie into TWD theme.

Oh good... someone got a pic of the new signage beam. I forgot to get one yesterday.

Well if you remember, that particular façade was the snow-covered Xmas shop. If you look closely at the chimney, you can see it still has snow on it. If anything, I doubt it will tie into the new TWD attraction but more so become devoid of holiday film set production exterior to blend in with the rest of Baker St.

That's a lot of work for just a small refurbishment. The helicopter will likely span across to the smaller façade so it can be supported from both sides.

I wouldn't consider the de-themeing of that façade a small refurbishment. They have to make it "normal" & less "in production" for a holiday movie. Remember, it was snow-covered, so of course it needs to be redone.

As for the alleged helicopter, I'll believe it when I see it because that concept art could easily be for a scene inside the attraction rather than the façade. The buildings the helicopter is crashing into don't even match the extior of the attraction (which is something that should be taken into consideration, especially for concept art).

If they do actually have a helicopter outside, they don't "need" to have it attached to the façade currently being redone. If it was going to, we'd see similar support base somewhere on the building & I did not see any when looking at this from the opposite direction yesterday.

^ Maybe because it hasn't been added yet.

Guaranteed prediction of mine is the helicopter is coming. Sadly.

Assuming that the new archway shown above is going to hold up the sign/marquee for the attraction, I think the helicopter is only more likely at this point. Also, how else would it be propped up if it wasn't resting on both the new building and the old façade next to it?

Given the arrangement of the supports on the TWD building, I'd wager the cabin of the helicopter will be attached on the left and the tail of it will rest higher either on top of the old façade's roof or just behind it on the roof of the Globe Theatre.

How else?... easy.. considering it won't be a "real" helicopter & just a fabricated prop piece that won't weigh that much, those 3 supports on the side of the building would be enough considering a steel rod would connect to each point & then extend through the helicopter (none of which would be visible to guests). Its really not that complicated.

The main problem with this whole helicopter "idea" is that the facades are not exactly to scale, so a big helicopter is going to end up looking ridiculous "crashing" into such a small façade. But again, the buildings in the concept art don't even match the new (or old) Baker st facades, so I guess the facades not being to scale matter that much.

But if they have three beams going through the whole helicopter in an attempt to keep it standing up, why not just extend those beams further to rest on top of the Globe Theatre to avoid the risk of it losing its sturdiness? In my opinion, it makes more sense to have the helicopter wreck resting on top of the two buildings as if it just crashed as opposed to having the helicopter awkwardly sticking out of the corner of the new façade.

As for it looking ridiculous due to the scale of the façades, I think it's evident they'll be scaling the helicopter down to match the size of everything around it (in addition to the fact that a full-sized helicopter obviously can't be wedged in that tight spot).

Yeah, it's gonna look ridiculous.

Still gonna happen though.
