I just wish there was a way to do 3-D without the glasses. The glasses make everything dark and runs rides for me.

Does anyone else think that the Willow could be given an update with this? Lighting fix, full cover screen with relief model of Hogwarts in the background, a Quidditch tower on the right for a more visual transition (as opposed to two strobes and that cloud animation).

Maybe some music. Finally. Ahem.

Please. Worst scene in the ride and the worst transition to a screen. From pitch black blob of tree to mid-afternoon Quidditch match.

The 3D glasses used are shaped like Quidditch goggles! How cute.

But no, really, our FJ needs a two-month-long refurbishment with an expanded and remodeled queue, and the introduction of a projection-mapped nighttime show.

If we're going to have to wear 3D glasses, at least they will be authentic & cool, if they use the Japanese types in the U.S. I can live with that.

I'd actually be all good with FJ being in 3D. The screens on this have always been my absolute least favorite part so the 3D could only help.

Want to hear the Harry Potter movie soundtrack long before it was written?

I am rolling my eyes at Home Alone 2 (really bored) and the kid goes to the toy store. It is full of the beginnings of the Harry Potter soundtrack and yet I thought no way did Williams write for this piece of junk. Turns out, yeah he did. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) - Full Cast & Crew - IMDb

So, it is historically fascinating that many of the beginnings of melodies started there.

Home Alone 2 is a classic and one of the greatest Christmas movies ever. Why are you watching it now?

Williams' scores are distinctive, can always tell when he's been scoring a movie. Same goes for Zimmer, John Barry, Danny Elfman and James Horner. They all have a style of their own

As of a few days ago, all of Forbidden Journey's ride vehicles have had their ride profile changed, making the ride a smoother (and overall toned down) experience. I'm assuming it's for the inevitable 3-D overlay it'll be getting in the next year or so.

Sorry, I haven't been busy with another project and haven't been to UOR for a few days, I'll check it out when I get a chance.

The profile does seem to have been smoothed in some spots where sudden motion occurred such as the willow. Nothing to big though.

Btw, the lights have gotten brighter today than my trip yesterday, which itself had brighter lights than normal. It seems they may be doing some changes while the parks are closed each night in preparation for something, hopefully 3D.

Although, I honestly don't see the 3D coming for a few months at the very least, this could be really early testing.

I believe I called 3D Quidditch goggles before FJ was even open or confirmed to be in 2D...

John Williams is kind of notorious for repurposing sections of scores into new scores. You should watch Hook and listen closely to how much of that he repurposed for the first two Potter films.

Just rode FJ. The overall "idea" of the profile is intact , but certain motions have been smoothed out as already noted. I noticed it mostly in moments where the RV would "hoist" riders until they are nearly up on their backs, such as just before the dragon AA, the transition into the second dementor AA, and the transition into the second floo network screen. Basically, in spots where the RV would move riders mainly vertically, those motions are generally more diagonal - moving riders up and in a lateral direction. Of course, this could all be placebo, but it instantly stuck out to me.

Or listen to every song Danny Elfman ever made...they all sound the same
